larger gap allows for a larger flame kernel. but you need a corispondingly larger electrical charge to benifit. And yes i conceed your point on electrical conductivity of copper and silver. the precious metals of iridium allow for a harder longer lasting tip with similar electrical conductivity.

either way buy a plug that makes you happy and gives you the warm fuzzy's.
be it champion, bosch, ngk, motorcraft or autolight. to each there own.

I agree, and you're right. You can reach your needs with any good solid plug, and as I have read, just because copper is such a good conductor does not mean a copper plug will work the best as far as spark intensity; this is because now days they actually make plugs that use copper and platinum for both of their advantages.
