Spring Mods, What to do next?
Spring Mods, What to do next?
So spring is coming and it is time to do some work to the cobalt, but the problem is that I not too sure what I want/should be doing. I currently have GM stg.2, OTT H/E, full 3" 304 stainless hahn racecraft cat back, Hanh header and DP, Injen intake, Ingalls, AFR, Interceptor and boost gauges, B&M STS, Injen intake, MRZ STB, and a few other things on an 07 SS/SC... Now I'm not too sure where I should take my car? TVS? Twin Charge? 60's and a 2.8/2.7? Meth? dual pass? Option B? Coil Overs? Sway bars? Traction Bars? Rotated trans mounts? poly mounts? I'm looking for reliable power, doesn't have to be the cheapest route, traction on the track, etc. Im not looking to have the fast car in town... just want to know where I should take the car next? What do you guys think?
id say it all depends on how much money you're willing to spend. cheapest route to make a little more power would be to put on a smaller pulley and put in some 60's. get a good custom tune. if you going to do this it would be wise to invest in some more cooling mods. the trans mounts can only help at the track. suspension mods will help the look of the car and the handling.
Well I would say between $2000-$3000. I was planning on going with 60's, 2.8 and a tune, but I don't think that that will take me as far as I want to go... and the money spent on that could have been put toward something else. I think that I want to go bigger (i.e. Twin charge or a TVS) but I'm not too sure what people have been doing, what works well and what doesn't? Along with what other supporting mods I should have?
Does anyone know what the advantages/disadvantages are of the TVs over twin charge, along with the required supporting mods and the numbers that people are lying down with both. Like I said I know that I want to do some work on the car, but I'm just not too sure what... and thats why I am on here looking for your opnions
personally, i would never go turbo over TVS... yea as far as all out horsepower you can accomplish more with the turbo but like he said he isn't trying to be the fastest car in town... plus the install of the TVS is pretty easy compared to a turbo set up. TVS FTMFW!!
