but unfortunately, theres about 2 thousand little sideways hat wearin punks. who beat the **** out of a modded ss/sc, and think GM is responsible for a roasted clutch.

as far as im concerned. ive gone above and beyond with this subject to help people understand, i even deliberately roasted my clutch in a video to demonstrate it.

but obviously some people are just to stubborn to hear it, or just have an ego that cant handle the fact that maybe they cant drive this car properly.

so my patience is at an end.

and "learn how to drive" is all i have left in me.
I can understand that for sure! I appreciate your efforts and honesty here most definitely as you are a valued member to this site. Trust me when I say I feel your pain on these touchy subjects. The twinscrew is my patience ender!

But I do beat the **** out of my car many drag passes, many on slicks, but I also baby the car while beating it (I know lol) granny shiftin and no clutch drops makes the clutch last a long long time. I guarruntee when I pull my clutch out the disk is still gonna be fine. I'm betting it's just the pressure plate that can't clamp enough to hold the power I'm making now. It's funny though, cause as long as I don't do back to back to back pulls, it still holds fine, still will even chirp 3rd gear here and there
this is comparable to how i drive... no clutch drops ever no smokey burn outs, but i do drive it as hard as possible without thrashing, im not 16 ive thrashed my share of cars and nothing good can come from it, i know im just saying that the "clutch" is fine it is a lack of clamping force is the issue... and gm could of not dropped the ball on this one... its an ss that means you bought it cause you wanna drive hard and go fast???

yeah but they assumed you knew how to drive fast without ******* it up.
why are 90% of people with far more power than you have doing just fine?

its not the part.
the sooner you have the humility to realise that YOU are responsible, the sooner you can fix the issue, and get on with life.

eh **** happens, you want to beat on your car, and race your car, you have to fix your car, or upgrade the parts to handle it.... That's the bottom line
very true... and by my sig beeing full and ive had the car for 6mon i know what you mean i just expected more from the pressure plate... and a better clutch feeling it dosent feel like most hydralic clutches you have to let it up almost all the way before it grabs wich leads to these "kids" hitting the gas before the clutch is out and then the engine is making so much power at that high of revs that the pressure plate is to far behind to grip with the 18s let alone slicks... has anyone ever had a problem when they had on 16s not me or my clutch it will do third gear spins not chirps and 1 2 are a joke so i quess its alot of combination of things

and have a stock car..its defrent when u have mods and stock...i had no problem with the clutch until i got s2,and then it was all downhill from there

if you took half a second to search, youd see just how much ive tried to help people with this subject.

and your 1/4 mile time doesnt make you smarter chief.
its just a slip of paper.

grow up.

people are trying to help you understand, but your just ignoring them because your huge ego cant handle the idea that you just havent figured out how to drive this car properly yet.

and next time you throw a little fit like that, youll likely get yourself a few days of banning to cool off.

argue without childish obscenities.
it just makes you look like your losing.

u do know that time was posted up here in ALBERTA! with about a 4000ft elevation... bring your car up and see what u run.... put it this way, in calgary a stock ss/sc with a good driver will run a 15.1 at ~98 mph.

Dude, i love you. in the most non homosexual way as possible. side note i had clutch slip once. when i installed my mounts i wanted to test for wheelhop. it was raining. did a burnout. shifted to 2nd and nothing but clutch for like .5 seconds before i realized the tires werent moving. even after all that my clutch is still a beast

lol, ah I knew this was going to turn into the usual ss.net bitch fest..... never fails.
but anyway, S2 is not too much power for the clutch to hold.... I'm making close to 400hp and have been for months, and now my clutch finally can't hold anymore and thats only because I've been tuning in more and more TQ over the last few weeks just to see what it could hold. when I was at 356whp and 315wtq, clutch never ever gave me an issue

yes i did,im not bitter,it just annoy's me when people say u cant drive...i understand when u buy a brand new car and ur clutch goes within 12k or so,than thats drivers fault, but not when it goes out around 30k with 250+hp...our trannys arent rated more than the stock clutch is rated at,so it isnt the drivers fault when it goes out at 30k

sorry blackg85 if it came out a little bitter, but ever since i came onto this forum,ur car has been on that dyno until couple months ago

you're failing to look at other cars.

everyone is a different driver. don't single him out on this one.

my car only has maybe 8-12 dyno pulls on it... all miles are hard street miles guys, I drive my car everyday into Harlem (manhattan) to work, plus took it to miami, upstate, and I drive it probably 250 miles + a week. And the car has only been down 2x the whole time I had it, once for 1 week when I broke the axles at the track , and the other for a month when we did the turbo conversion. Other than that, it's been driven everyday of it's life. **** Friday nights a drive a round trip of 75 miles just for our weekly meets.
and damn if I had 30300 miles of dyno runs, that would be even better since that would be constant beating the **** out of the car.

you know...im not gonna argue one way or the other whether or not its driver error or not, cause i have an auto...i have no clue. however, i will add my opinion that you can get MUCH better responses if you stop bashing people...your bein kind of an ass, and in turn, people are gonna be asses to you...especially since you havent established yourself as a regular here (even if your join date is almost a year ago)

you can start by not bein an ass to me for tryin to give my social advice and help...cause im guessin that if i hadnt written this sentence, you would have told me something like to shut up unless im helping

i mean ss/tc can hold 260+hp and260+tq then i was thinking about getting it instead of a exedy because i have a wholesale license so i can get the stock ss/tc clutch for cheaper than an exedy...

In GM's part catalog the part numbers are different for the disk and pressure plate for the LNF VS LSJ

LNF
24239996-Pressure plate
24239997-Friction disc

LSJ
12583856- Pressure plate
12589049-Friction disc

I am only STAGE 1 w/ some minor mods, but I DO RACE (Auto-X, road course) and have now ticked over 31,000 miles.... my clutch pulls like new.... I have powershifted a handful of times during street races and have had NO slip during those moments (yes you can powershift with this car!). I drive my car daily and I FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE STOCK CLUTCH!!!
An0malous's video is an EXCELLENT demonstration of what to do and what NOT to do.

The amount of power being laid down and driver are the 2 biggest variables IMO...
I had many cars, raced most of them and have NEVER replaced a clutch in over 25 years of driving

Although, I do need brakes a few hot laps at AUTOBAHN and repeated 100+ mph braking, has made my pads toast.... I am just waiting for the weather to warm up to swap them out
Can anyone recommend a good street/race pad set up? oh and higher temp brake fluid?
