ss/sc tuning probs

i just bought an 07 ss/sc bolt. it has ott stage 1, 2 step colder ngks, cti catless 3in down pipe, 2 1/2 tsudo exhaust, injen cai, poly tans inserts, over the top heat exchanger. he said it has tune by terifica. im thinkin he might have just said it wrong and it might be trifecta tune. but anyways it was tuned w/o cai and exhaust. thats when i bought it, now it turns back bumper really black from exhaust has slightmiss at slow acceleration at about 2500rpm and it throws multiple cylander misfire code. any suggestions on someone to tune around missouri. im about 60 miles south of st. louis. just lookin to have it right. drives me nuts with black all over bumper and check engine light

Area will not tune that car, again..... There are only a few good tuners in the st.louis area. The car was running fine before he sold it 13.8's@103 or so, what did you do to it? The Trifecta tune runs just fine and Vince knows his ****, the setup is fine, have one of us look at the car and we can see what the deal is, just stop messing with things and you will be fine. Learn about the car first or ask any of the STL members questions and we will help you out. How do you know its running rich is there a wideband on the car?? No there is not, have you done a sniffer on a dyno, im probably guessing no. Check your plugs, check your vaccum hoses, clean your TB out, actually seafoam the damn thing. Check the injector seals, there are many different things on these cars that are all wacky. Black doesnt always mean rich, Check to see if the car puffs black smoke at WOT....Just have one of us look at the car. There are a few locals with HPTuners who can datalog it.

Ah my freind. Like i told ya before...rather you take my word for it or not...The tune was fine on the car. A simple retune and i am pretty confident that the issue will be solved. I tired going threw area which if you wanna dig up the forums that i had a huge issue with and in the end all he really did was adv the timing hard core. You drive a FI car the blackness will happen but the bumper **** is prolly cause that muffler sits in there a little short. ALL tsudo exhaust do that if you read up on them. So simply take it to the muffler shop and have it moved back and rewelded up. But i mean as far the the car not running good...Doing 13.8's is a daily driven car with roughly 1200 in mods...to me i will take that but thats up to you. I have the slips to prove if you really wanna do this but just saying. I hope you enjoying the car cause i do miss it but am enjoying lower payments and lower insurence lol.

and when Vince did it he tuned it for 11.8 i think...But dont qoute me...Talk with copson cause he was the org tuner threw the car

Why in the world are you running 2 step colder plugs? I have always heard 1 step colder for every 100 whp added. That is probably your problem.

You'll probably never need a 2 step colder plug with these cars.

now it turns back bumper really black from exhaust has slightmiss at slow acceleration at about 2500rpm and it throws multiple cylander misfire code.
If this was true, I doubt the car was finewhen it was sold unless he magically got it and the car started running like ****.

Sounds like the tune could be off, but definately change the plugs/check them, see what the gap is.. Keep us updated.

actually, no. i didn't "advance the timing hardcore". you really do not want to get into that battle again.

lol the only reason I said I would go out there is because 1bdstlLSJ said "area will not tune that car....again". Just trying to help out a forum member, not stepping on your toes.

well man obviously tune was messed up! so before you get all ignorent with me dont underestimate me and my knowledge of cars! i didnt touch a thing on the car performance wise! and i just had it retuned! same exact way i got the car a/f was between 9-10! car dynoed 158 horse and 173 ft lbs of torque! and like i said i never touched a thing! car now is between 11.8-12 a/f. now is 242 horse and 220.50 ft lbs of torque! and its a whole different car! pbj tuned it i have dyno sheets to prove it all so if you want to see sheets call me and we'll meet up and ill show them all to you! it shows first dyno pull as way car came in and the way it left. numbers (314)852-7553 name is sean. and justin yes i do love the car and i never talked **** on anyones tune i just knew it wasnt right and wanted it right.

oh yea i did change plugs after 3rd pull. put same as came out. ones that came out were gapped at 40. brand new ones were at 32. we just left them like that. he said he liked them at 28 but they were close enough we wouldnt mess with them. i also never said car wran like ****! i just said it wasnt right and i wanted it right! I wasnt opposed to having same guy retune it i just knew it needed to be done and i got ahold of joe and he got me in next day and its night and day difference now.

So your tuner said it was ok to run 2 step colder plugs on your car? I just don't understand that?
