Bone stock I ran a 14.8 @ 98mph. Really bad traction problems, and serious wheel hop at the top of first gear.

It was about 102 degrees outside too, that probably didn't help.

LSD dosen't help on the track. Until someone can explain to me how it could, im unbiased on the whole thing. That is speaking of a Cobalt not LSD in general.

OMG, Here we go again........ this has been fully covered many times on this forum. The more rubber (tires) you can get to grip the ground the better. I can't think of any pro quarter mile race driver that would run a single spin.

well an lsd will definately help your launches, but it does rob a little more power, so it will slow you down at higher speeds. You can launch harder because without an lsd, the easiest wheel for the motor to spin will be the one to spin, so you don't get good traction. With it, both wheels spin equally making more traction and helping your launches. This is kind of cancelled out by the extra drivetrain power loss when you are close to stock, but once you get some major mods going you will definately be faster with the lsd.

Sorry EndZz... you are 100% correct. I am a new member and saw something in a post that caught my eye and commented on it, but we are getting way off subject. Back to the 1/4 mile time data base......
