GM Performance Parts will offer separate Stage 1 and Stage 2 supercharger kits. The Stage 1 Kit includes higher-flow fuel injectors and an ECU calibration to provide a 31 hp boost to the Cobalt’s engine for a total of 236 hp and 205 lb.-ft. of torque. Add in the Stage 2 Kit, with its smaller supercharger pulley and drive belt, and the engine comes alive with 241 hp and 218 lb.-ft. of torque across a broad engine speed range.

283hp even if that isn't a misprint, . That has to be the crank unless the internals have been swapped.

well even if its 283hp at the crank, or a bit less, thats still higher than the original quote of 241hp... hope its not a misprint!!!

Im betting its flywheel HP. Stage two plus intake and exhaust = almost 260whp.

Exactly, i started a thread about this a while ago, they say a hybrid supercharger and a smaller puller than whats offered on the upcoming Stage 2

twincharged is running on stock internals and pushing over 350whp est. and over 20psi all he's done is head gasket and new headbolts. everything else is external

I've seen pages of GM quoting HP and TQ of the Staged kits that was later changed. Keep an eye on that page, see if they change it.

look closer

take a closer look the 283 hp numbers are from the time attack cobalt. that is not the stage two numbers. they are talking about the time attack cobalt that roasted all those cars in that speed vision show. then they talk about the staged kits in the next unrelated paragraph.

For some reason I remember them saying in the show GM took the motor and did internals and what not to the time attack car... I dont think its the "Stage 2" everyone is thinking of...

Selfinfiction where did you get this info, any dyno sheet ? 350 WHP is a lot ... my bet is 350 BHP.

At sema they discussed that car with us, it is the stage 2 but also has internals. By this I mean cams, rods, pistons, ported head, and ect.

I heard its actually GM Stage 2.5 Type-R tune. The secret is tiny cambodian swamp rats sealed into the pulley. When you get on it they start running and make the pulley spin so fast that the motor frees up horsepower. At the exact moment the a siberian house fly jumps on the boost bypass valve keeping it closed for the forthcoming 34135314324810^5154 psi of boost...starting 100 rpm before idle!!!!!!!!!!!

i dont see a stock twin charged Cobalt SS getting over 320 whp in my opinion. now a stage 2 twin charged cobalt SS would be a bad ass car.pyutting out around 365 whp.

alright correct me if i read this wrong but...stage 1 is 236 and 2 is 241...from what I see one of the differences is a smaller pulley....i always thought youd get more friggen....6 ponies from a higher boost...i dont know though, im still in college getting my mechanical engineering degree, havent learned about that just yet.
