Stage 2 Belt w/ 2.8"

Ok, I did some searching and didn't come up with a definite answer. I am going with a 2.8" pulley, what will I need to make sure there is now belt slip? I will definitely be getting a Stage 2 belt, but do I also need a smaller idler pulley? Thanks.

i can't really tell you what to buy or not buy, just what has worked for me and others. I myself have the stage 2 belt ,PB 2.8", their idler and the tensioner tool. the stock tension sucks in my opinion, not enough force on the belt. i want it snug and non slipping so i bought the idler bracket to bring the idler pulley in alignment more with the tensioner. the tool just makes life easier and quicker. if i hear slip at all i'll buy the larger idler pulley. but it doesn't look like i will need it. GOOD LUCK

Thanks for the info. I think I will be going with the Stage 2 Belt and then get larger idler pulley from Intense when I put my order in for their MPS system.

you have so shave the braket that the idler sits on, i have the intense idler but i havnt installed it yet, im still waiting for my tune so i can put on my 2.7, 60 pound injectors and harness, but from what ive gathered you just shave the braket with some coarse sandpaper and it dosnt have to be shaved much, i think the lowest pulley you can go with the stage 2 belt is a 2.7 withoutslip according to a few people on here, but i decided to buy the idler pulley just incase, plus its cheap and easy as stated above.

I have Stage 2 with 2.8 pulley installed and running with stock spark plugs,
the rpm is very buggy at low rev and every time i hit the gas,
will it be gone with new gapped spark plugs ??
Thanks in advance
