stage 2 or bolt ons

I have been saving up some extra money and i have about a 1000 dollars to play with now should i just get the stage 2 kit and maybe a catless downpipe or should i get the catless downpipe, header, intake, and maybe a torque damper if there enough i can get the gm stage 2 kit or 500 bucks soo idunno i know i will get more boost and power out of it but should i make the car breathe better before i do it so i can get the full potential

IMO Best bang for the buck would be a stage 2 kit........then you'd have some money left over for springs or an intake or something also.

I would go stage 2 for sure, you will notice more of a difference in power that way.

zzp header/dp - 400
2.9" pulley - 55
ingalls tq damper - 140 on ebay
intake - 200-300

find someone to tune you.

now you're faster than a stage 2

It really depends if your going to keep moding your car. If stage 2 will be the end then go with that. But, if you plan to sometime go to a 2.8 w/ 60's and more you would want the exhaust first.

No power gain with cooling mods and they aren't really needed w/ stage 2.

I would do cooling mods first so you can turn the wick up when you came across the money.

**** it.

I agree with this. If you plan on going past the 3.06" pulley (S2) in the future, you may as well not go with the stage 2 package.

But not necessarily with this.

Heatsoak is definitely a problem with us. Maybe not AS much of a problem with few mods, but cooling mods definitely still help, and they will only help more as you mod. Like getting an intake. As your very first mod, it may only add, say 2-4whp in some situations, but if you were to get it after full exhaust or something, you may notice you get a little more out of it.

you can buy all the parts used and save alot of money... If i were you.. I'd do the airbox mod... header/downpipe/catback then get injectors/belt/tuned ecu and be set

best bang for your buck man are the 60lb injectors with 2.6/2.7/2.8 pulley. stage 2 kit form gm i s 2waaaayy overpriced, there out their to make money and they know people will buy it they label it official gm parts. stage2 kit isnt all that great. i was running a 14.1 with stage 2 and a drop in intake.. wasnt all that impressive. first time my friends were like damn.. was when the 60s went in.. its a whole new car on the same level as stock evos and such. ive even beaten some, well of course i dont think this guy knew how to drive his all that well.. still, a win is a win over an evo.

go with the advice with cooling mods man, i highly highly suggest to get the cx racing heat exchanger intercooler, works prefect and looks even better. IMO, highly believe stage2 isnt that worth it or great.. my car is completely fine for normal daily driving, and my temps are actually lower at the track even when the car was stock. find someone on here for a tune.. $300?? whoever charges that much can get a slap from me
