I dont see what the hype is about. So some of us go on a Mustang and some of us go on a Dynojet. Who cares. as long as u stick to the same machine. I did 222hp and 194torque on a Mustang and yes, that was with my stage 2. I saw an STI do 210hp that same night.

gmpp catback

A/f was a solid 11.5, i did my pulls in 4th gear all the way to 6500

I made the pulls in 4th gear from 4k to 6500(7k took forever and didnt do much more). What do you guys think? Did I pull in wrong gear, is there anything i should look for. I attached the graph. Seems odd since people are posting 215 all the way to 230 bone stock and i cant get that with mods. Help

isn't 11.5 really rich??????

Nope, that's pretty decent for a boosted car. 11.5-12.5 is roughly where you want to keep most boosted cars. I was at 9.8:1 on the dyno, and that is pig rich my friend!

12.5 seems to be the sweet spot for a 100 octane LSJ tune. daily driven are rarely WOT, 11.5-12.0:1 is the best mix.

This was on the screen at imperial chevrolet when I ordered it, my friend is the parts manager. But i believe you, trust me. Esp after the power it put out. I think gm needs to update there parts screens. I cant complain though, i paid 500 bucks for everything

no 11.5 is perfect for a forced induction car. You can run the, 12.0-11.8 but i would rather be safe then sorry. Besides most of the cars we tune end up running faster at the track at 11.5 over 12.0.

yea I deff was wayy off on what I dyno'd on the mustang dyno.. I looked at my sheets and only put down 189.9 wtq and 212whp while running rich.. I had a cai and the wrong plugs and got that.. a stock SS got 218whp so now that I got the right plugs and stage 2 I should be a lot better.. As for the hicupps I noticed I only get them when I start going from cold weather without giving my car a chance to warm up enough.. I have been lucky for a few days now... hopefully the hiccups will stay away now!... but yea I hope to deff get one more dyno before I put the snow tires/wheels back on

yup, got me a "track flash." If you didnt know its only for the track, you should see the "desired TQ" map in first gear. Great for 35psi front tires!

Let me know if it keeps happening, you can stop by and we can take a look at it. Let me know when you want to dyno again, we can goto my dyno together and get some good factual numbers.

let me know how the header turns out for you, i can get the gm one for cheap money but i may get a full aftermarket one sometime soon, just dont want the car to be too loud and too ricey. I took the gmpp catback since it sounded the least ricey, i know its not the best for power

o lol. yeah, im gonna buy it soon, i want a real header, but i have to go with the gm header. Ive read to many stories about poor fitting headers. Its my $ and I dont want to take the risk, IMO the CTI seems like its the best, but too expensive

I didnt mod this to be fast, i modded it so it would get out of its own before i fall asleep.

I run the dynojet myself when i dyno my cars. You can easily add in any weather you want and even play with the da and i can make my cobalt 30hp more then everyone elses if i feel like it. Unfortuantely i like real numbers, my post was more sarcasm about all the cars here putting down 220 bone stock but yet i can barely do it with a stage 2 modded car.

As for the butt dyno...this thing was completly different on the street, car woke right up. But when gm themselves claim its a 60hp kit...i like to get what i paid for.

THe day i dynoed this car i just got done dynoing 20 camaros and gtos...you have never been on a chassis dyno and your giving me advice about one? Thanks
I was not trying to be a jerk. So I apologize if I came off that way.
A baseline on your car on your dyno would have yielded the most accurate results. That's all I was trying to state.
Glad the hear that the seat of the pants was more than satisfying. I have stage 2 on order, and that is the comment I was looking for. My SS needs woke up. At least to get it respectable.
Chassis dyno, engine dyno, same or similar principal. Especially as far as correction factors are concerned.
BTW, the engine dyno I've been on several times is an inertia dyno....very much the same as a chassis dyno that has to accelerate a large weight. It's just math.
I have been at the hot rod thing for 30 years. I'm still no expert. I can't wear my crediantials on my chest. No point in that.
My street/strip car runs 9.90's on pump gas NA. So when I say the SS is slow, that's my comparison.
Have fun with your SS and with your Camaro.
Ron

NO harm no foul, I apologize for being sensative lol...honestly you will love the stage 2. It changed the whole car, even just rolling on 5th at 80 it picks up fast. Im putting on the 2.8 pully this week with some new plugs so its gonna get even better. The thing with the stage kits and pulleys is they dont net tons of hp but they do add lots of tq, and you having a drag car in the 9's no what im trying to say about tq

ANd its good to see another older person and big hp v8 lover on here with a cobalt, I was feeling lonely.

Give us an update when you get the stage 2, another honest assesment will be nice.

Hey now, a lot of us love v8's but only have half the money needed to get one (and in my case are married to a woman who hates cars), hence the four banger Someday the Z06 will be mine! (if I ever get out of medical school)

Thanks man. I'm looking forward to the Stage 2. The car will really benefit from mid range grunt.
My 496 power peaked at 6300, si it's all grunt. But it also likes to go to 7000.

I'll post when and if my stage 2 is on. For some reason it is on backorder from my dealer....

Those seem like real low numbers. How the hell can you only dyno at 214-220hp with a stage II. Our cars should be nearly that stock. Something is not right there....

you should probably read the whole thread lol...the people dynoing 220 stock...have friendly dynos that are not accurate. 230-240 with a stage 2 is about right...i dynoed 225 because i only pulled to 6500 instead of 7k, i left 10-15hp on the table.
