stage 2 installation HELP

Is there ANYWHERE on the internet or anything where there is an official time for the installation of stage 2? I thought it was supposed to be 1.5 hours, but where is the official page for this? I know a lot of you got screwed into more hours, and I am sorry that you did, but the dealership said if I get a form of proof that it is only 1.5 hours, they will not charge me for any more regardless of how long it takes.

Please help me out here.

I heard there was a phone number you can call, or something like that. Try searching for a phone number...

Stealerships suck. I'm not even a freakin tech and it only took me an hour and a half to do the swap by myself in my garage with basic tools. It's a GM part, therefore GM should have a standard time on the books to put it in. I worked for a Chevy dealer in the body shop before joining the military. We, to include the service techs got set times to do a job regardless of how long it took us/them to do it and those times were set by GM and the insurance companies. I'd say if the dealer isn't willing to call GM and get that for you, personally I would find another dealer, because this one sounds like it is trying to rip you off. But that's me, good luck!

Have GM call their PARTEC (i think?) line and ask for a estimate on install. Last I heard it was actually listed as 1.5hrs for stage 2. I could be wrong, but I also thought the instructions that came with the kit show an install time.

Since it is a performance upgrade they can try to charge you as much as they want. And of course because of that fact it's also not in Chiltons or Alldata to get an actual time. You would have to add up the times to replace the pully and injectors and a pcm flash. I used to be a tech and I would tell you that I would not quote you less then 2 hours. About 3 hours sounds about right. You got to remember the tech is prob making around 20 bucks an hour but the shop charges you anywhere from 80 to 100 per hour. Dealerships standard rate is 2.5 hours for a brake job but I can do them in about half an hour so using how long it really takes to do it is not a good indicator. I would say to do it right and to make sure everything is good as in test driving it and everything I would spend a good 3 hours to do.

come to think of it, what ever DID say only 1.5 hours for installation?

OK update:

I got my dealership in pembroke pines (I will talk to you about them in a second) on the phone and talked to my buddy robert winfree. This guy has given me 4 new rims, no questions, and everything else I requested. Well, Guess what he did for me also.

1.5 hours install, no questions asked. total price, before tax, $158. so im like, sweet! But what else does he do? He lets them know I am a college kid, and they give me another 20 dollars off of that. so now I am at 138 for install. sweet! after EVERYTHING. including tax, itll be 160 for install.

If ANYONE reads this that is in south florida, please PLEASE go to pembroke pines chevrolet. I think its a maroone. they are AMAZING, I bought my car from there, as well as my dads corvette, and their customer service is amazing. Just remember to ask for robert winfree and tell him justin campagnano with the black cobalt ss sent you there, so he knows how much I appreciate all he does!
