Stage 2 Installed!!

Well guys I just got back from the shop and I have the stage 2 gm kit installed. My current mods are cat delete, 3 inch custom exhaust with magnaflow muffler and tip with the stage 2 kit. I am currently hitting 1 line above the 15, so I think thats 16.5lbs of boost give or take. Everything else is stock.

At first I had a huge smile on my face and loved the stage 2 kit, and then I almost instantaneously questioned whether or not it was worth it. I feel the difference, but I can't really see the difference ya know. I really think I need to get it on a dyno so I know I have the gains etc.

The redline is now 7k and I hit it once to make sure, The wheel hop kinda turned into wheel spin lol, but all in all its really fun and I am sure when I pull up to the next boosted ricer, I will love it even more.

Just wanted to give you guys my 2 cents and letcha know whats up.

By the way, the 16 1/2 lbs of boost was made at basically sea level in elk grove california.

Thanks for everything guys.

Zach.

PS: I think I am going to get the HPTuners stuff and start doing some custom tunes, soon to come will be headers, downpipe, and some guages, wideband, etc.

I know what you are saying. You just get used to the car, and it seems slow again. That was exactly the way I thought. It was fast at the start, but then slow 3 days later. That is why they say,"Modding is a major addiction!!!"

So far everything is great, the instant 12lbs of boost is amazing, and the 16lbs of boost max is great. I need to get the wheel hop/spin under control though. What are some good 18inch tires to run on the streets? I am assuming I just need 2 really good front tires, and the stock rear tires will be fine correct?

Also, will I see an increase in boost with headers/downpipe or will it remain the same? I have heard some people saying that I should grab a 2.9inch pulley and put it on. Is this a good idea. If anything bad happens to the car, I can always put the gm stage 2 pulley back on and then take it back to the shop.

So far the only "problem" is I have a CEL because of the cat delete. Since I don't live where there is any smog testing/emissions I decided to delete it and put it in my trunk and sell it haha.

I am heading back towards home, so I will let you know how the gas mileage is, generally i can get slightly over 300 to a tank of gas, hopefully that will remain the same. Again thats with cruise control on the highway.

Thanks for everyones input, and please let me know what other mods I should do in the future etc. Like I said I will probably do headers/dp if its worth it, and rims to look cool, and then cooling mods.

A header may actually drop your boost a pound or so dude to less restriction.

I run Stage 2, 2.9, mid-length header, 3" DP, and GMPP cat-back along with a intake. I love the setup I have right now, power is great and I was able to pull a VERY tiny bit on a LS1 trans AM from a 40 roll.
