I can't wait till the stage kits come out!. I want to get Stage 2. I hope the will allow you to install it yourself, save me some money. But i look at it like this: if its covered under warrenty by GM, i guess i could fork over some money for them to install it. I want stage 2, intake and exhaust... thats all i want on this car untill the warrenty is up. I figure if anything would go wrong, u can take the intake off and put the factory one back on in less than an hour... exhaust as far as i know cant void your warrenty....

Damnit GM, just release the kits!

Hope they have those kits mass produced, cuz there is gonna be a retarded # of orders. Which will create an army of stage 2 SS's

SS's, dont forget the army of RL's that have been waiting a year and a half. You guys seem to have forgotten that theres probably more rl's than ss's, simply because they have been out longer.

I hope I'm one of the people to get stage 2 first . The service manager where I bought my car is someone I know and he said he's going to call me as soon as he here's info about ordering/purchasing it. Hopefully I'll be getting a call soon within a month or 2.

how can people be so stupid...the stage 1 kit is programed to run with just the new injectors....not a pulley. As well the stage 2 kit comes WITH A 2.8" pulley, but more importantly a CUSTOM PERFECT FIT BELT....so that ur not maxing out ur tensioner.

Anyone thinking that a stage 1 kit and a pulley is a good idea...needs to go back to driving their moms sunfire, cause ur gonna lean ur car out before u hit the end of the first street.

seriously, either get the power pak that rev it up offers, splice(which isnt a big deal) or get the stage 2 and pay the extra 200$ for the warrenty and belt....those are the only 3 realistic options.

trust me, i own a performance shop, and work in a parts department.

Umm from what I last recall, stage 2 includes a 3.0 pulley. Hence lots of people buying the 2.8 for more power. I think it gives you 1-2 lbs more than the 3.0 pulley which is good for about 10hp.

EDIT: I already bought my 2.8" DUB non-slip pulley from SFPH. It doesn't look any different than stock (except the smaller size). So when people ask what I have under the hood, I'll just say exhaust and intake. Then when/if I smoke them, I'll say, "Oh yeah, I forgot to mention i'm boosting 18 psi and have the ecu or pcm reflash" I can't wait to do that

I dont think you understand that the reflash is for a 3" pulley. So it wont work with your 2.8" pulley.

Actually stage 1 + 2.8" pulley should work pretty well.

It is a 3" pulley included in the stage 2 kit, but the pcm will be tuned for the addition smaller pulley in stage 1.

Using a 2.8" should not cause any problems, but we have yet to find out for sure .

GM IS GOING TO BE RELEASING A 73mm GMPP PULLEY!!!! (which is a 2.87 pulley for those mathmatically inclined) This is going to be for use ON THE STAGE KITS!!! The reflash isnt just going to be a "USE ONLY THIS OR DIE" reflash, its going to be a better performing reflash that supports new mods. I know some people dont read as much as I do about stuff but guys dont make a blanket statement with nothing supporting it.

Well that would explain why gm is giving you a smaller belt with the stage 2 kit since the 3.0 pulley works fine with the stock belt.

????

I have a 2.9 on my car and it doesnt slip so unless GM is removing or making the belt tensioner different than I dont see a need for a new belt but then again we are talking about GM here

I always thought that people were having slipping problems with anything under 3.0 such as the 2.85 zz performance or 2.8 sfph. You are the third person now that has had no slipping issues. Most others especially on the redline forums all say they have the tensioner along with their 2.85/2.8 pulleys.

Cuz most people do things that other people do and dont try things out themselves. My dealer has a redline that they just destroy trying to make it faster, inc. twincharge. So anything they say I listen too

I was thinking Stage I with a smaller pulley, Although Stage II does intrigue me as well, my final buying decision will be totally based on HOW MUCH the kits are going to be priced at, which is still a pet peeve, that we haven't found out yet.

Dummy Its not your dealer. It's your one of your dealers tech's little brother. They destroy it like that because Chris likes experimenting and Eric lets him with his car. Doing it AT the dealer is just a bonus cuz Chris has all the tools he would ever need there. Geez.
