Stage II Sold OUT!!!
I went down to my dealer today and he made a call to see what was happening. He called me back an hour later and said June at the earliest. Then he took my VIN number saying it may speed things up. Lucky I am in no hurry.
Oh ya I ordered and paid for it on April 12th.

maybe we should all do a massive refund then email gm saying that the cobalts of cobaltss.net are no longer interested in their inability to provide us with a product then wait a week or for a response then buy the kits again when the dealer says they can actually get one (wishful thinking i know)
im gettin my cobalt in AUGUST so if anyone finds out info write back...i need a stage 2 the day i get the car, keep me updated please.... live in CT

so i called again and the info i got was that there are 50 units being shipped to dealers this week and another 50 units being shipped to dealers next week. Aparently there was an issue with demand so i guess instead of 10 units being shipped to select dealers it will now be 50 units. that being said most of us should get the parts next week or the week after

while we're talking about bs and stuff, I called 2 dealers the other day to find out how much the reflash alone would cost me for Stage 1. The way I see it, Stage 1 has a 1.0 hour install time. At around what is it, $80 an hour for labor these days? Anyways, I figure if I do the injectors, thats gonna save them some time, so about a half hour lets say.
Anyway, for just the reflash they both said $100.
$100? So I'd have to pay more for just the reflash then the whole kit? I'm gonna bring that up to them when I call again. Probably tomorrow.

I talked to my dealer in New York yesterday and he called someone and they said that the parts have been recieved by GM and they are being packaged and sent out. He said give it a couple weeks and I should have it.
The problem with the stock is not GM's fault. They are getting the parts from an outside source and they are the ones that couldn't keep up with the demand.

I did not want to make a post earlier, scared the dealership was blowing smoke up my hind end, which he was. I went to my local dealership Monday ordered and paid for my stage 2 upgrade. Parts guy told me he would have it Friday. Well I read this thread I was very skeptical. I even told him what I had read here, even printed some of it and showed him. Talked to him on Wednesday, he said it was in route. I had to know how, he told me he SPAC 'd it. (SPAC is your car is in the garage & can not be driven) I figured being a cute chick & flirting helped me out. (I will do alot of flirting with skimppy cloths on if it will get me what I want) It typically works. He calls me today and tells me it is backed ordered. No **** I told him that earlier this week. He did however say there was a mass shipment of back ordered stage 2 going out on May 22. He also said my part was in that shipment.
so the price difference in stage I and stage II is about $200. Is the only difference in stage I and stage II the belt and the smaller pulley? With $200 saved buying stage I versus stage II can't you just go and buy a smaller pulley and a self adjusting tensioner/larger idler pulley for less than $200.00? I still haven't seen any physical evidence that suggests the Stage II reflash to be better than the Stage I. Someone needs to do a dyno of Stage I with smaller pulley Vs a stage II set-up somewhere.
