Steering recall on our cars?

I recently took my car in because the fuel pump was cracked & they said they'd fix the steering column or whatever the recall was on the car. I get it back today & notice the steering isnt as tight as it was & it makes a weird zzzzz sound when i turn the wheel, ive neer heard any of this before since ive bought the car has anybody took their cars to get this problem fixed & are having the same issue?

Your not freaking out, your absolutely right. The mechanic did something wrong when he installed the new motor. The part is located under you dash, and has (2) 10mm bolts holding it in place. Being that I used to be a GM tech, when our dealer still had Pontiac (our only GM line) I can tell you either that he installed the seal in the kit incorrectly, or didn't install it at all. The 2.0 LSJ SS comes with a seal to put around the motor, but I believe that seal only gets put on the NON-SS cars. I would have someone look up the repair procedure for you, have them print it out, and bring it back to the dealer.

A WHINING BUZZING NOISE IS LISTED IN THE SERVICE ARTICLE FOR THIS PART REPLACEMENT AS A IMPROPER INSTALLATION.

Edit: Also make sure that the (2) bolts get torqued properly.

No buzzing here and the steering felt TIGHTER. It was nice. Wish it would have stayed like that.
