still at it

well being as my trans is shot for now,i continued my weight reduction,by gutting all of the front doors, including the crash bars inside the doors, ive got the outer skins back on now and I just ordered the lexan for the side windows when that's done ill fab some aluminum skins for the inside to clean It all up a bit, also I was planning on ordering a FMSR built trans this month but a friend had a sweet deal on a 18ft open trailer so I snagged that up and will be ordering the built trans with LSD this month,July the latest.
I hated borrowing a trailer so its cool I got my own now,and the price was right.

I like what your doing with the car and making the most out of your situation.

That being said do you have a full start weight? I'm curious when all is said and done, how much lighter the var will be.

Cant say no to a well priced trailer, and good progress on the car, WR is huge.

Also, stay away from FMSR.

Im jealous. There is so much I want to rip out of my car, but I plan on having a passenger quite frequently. I dont mind putting myself at risk, but I dont want to risk my passenger. Car will be on the street 99% of the time

I think factory weight was around 2900lbs,if I had to guess im currently around 2500 give or take, got some updated pics of the lexan install, rear sides are still factory glass and its hard to tell them apart from the tinted lexan!
working on rear windows now and aluminum interior door skins, windshield will be done shortly too.
thanks for the heads up um FMSR..ive done a few diff installs on fwd transmissions, and my gear sets are fine just the diff is bad, maybe ill bite the bullet and order the tool kit for the trans and install a quaffie myself,MAYBE ill go that route..either way I know ill have a trans shortly so im taking care of the easy stuff now, also putting traction bars on and spherical LCB's

I was hoping for actual before and after measurements. Not guesses. But that's ok. I like the Lexan windows. I was planning on doing our rear windows in it.

Nice progress. I was thinking about doing some cutting here and there im just really unsure what i could cut without sacrificing rigidity.
