dont push your car with a clogged cat, be easy on it until you get it replaced

That dealer is full of ****. Even if they told you there was no such recall which there is by law if your cat is not working properly they have to replace it. Even if you warranty is up on vehicle emissions there is a seperate warranty due to emissions. I had mine replaced before this recall was out. I believe the warranty on emission effected parts is 8 years or 80'000 miles. They have to replace it by law!! The cat is part of the downpipe and I believe that part is around 600 to 800. Hope that helps you out.

Call GM and have them send the dealer a heads up about it. The dealer should know about the issue, but it appears they don't.

I don't think it was a full fledged recall (I never got a letter, I havn't had the car long enough... plus mine was replaced about 3 monts prior to me getting it), but rather an exension of the cat warranty.

ok i check the cat after 2 wot runs at 15 psi and it wasnt glowing red hot it had a temp of 345-616 on the out side metal tho temp were al taken from every point on the cat using infrared thermometer. lets just say the cat isnt clogged. what else could make the supercharger over boost to 15 psi?? a boost leak??? could the boost gauge just be reading incorrect?? im not trying to spend 98$ tomorrow for them to look at it and say nothing wrong when something is...

Could be the guage.. Alot of people been messing up lately.. or ur Boost solenoid could be stuck in the closed position.. turn the car on and have someone rev while u watch the black solenoid on the Blower.. does the lil hinge thing move up and down?

Thats the theft system.. dont know why that woulod be on.
And hmm.. if anything man just gut it to see if that fixes the problem.. maybe its barely clogging?
Cause the recall says it would throw ur car into limp mode if it was clogged

but would a minor clogged cause it to go up 2.5psi???

as far as a supercharger can it have boost leaks that would cause this??

but 2.5psi for a barely clogging... could it have a boost leak thats causing this?? could it be because i ran 87 fuel instead of 93???

i took off the bottom vac line on the supercharger to see if that was the problem and it didnt nothing.. still pushing 15 psi.... im so lost.

ok i took it up to the dealer and they said every thing was operating as is and nothing is wrong with the cat. there was no charge to me. but yet im still boosting at 14.9 psi. i talk to another mech. and he said the dump valve might have a weak spring or something wrong and suggest i replace it myself. so im going to do that... what type of boost gauge comes stock in the ss/sc ta mechanical one or eletroncial?

jw whats the part number for the bypass valve type it in the search and couldnt find it..

could it be since the temp around here are 30%-46% that im taking in cold air causing it to boost more???
