Stop wheel hop
I can't wait for GM's axles now, cause i forgot how bad the setup was without CAB's. Also, on a side not, i'm filling my 3rd trans mount with polyurethane, i pulled that thing out and it had to be the loosest mount i've seen on this car. Too bad nobody makes aftermarkets for it.
I have TTR motor mount and the tranny mount inserts. I love them and don't really ever have to worry about wheel hop. The only gripe i have about them is that now my dash vibrates like a b*tch. Anyone else getting the same problem? I was also thinking it could have been from a broken clip or fastener somewhere in there but it started when i changed the mounts.
I just wanted to say that filling the 3rd "hidden" transmission mount helps A LOT! If you're filling your mounts with polyurethane, that mount is definitely a MUST. I filled 3 of the 4 mounts that go to the drivetrain and before i was getting hop like mad whenever i broke the wheels loose, now after the fourth one is filled i may get slightly inconsistent burn outs, but no hop or real loss of traction or disconnection from the road. Running with stock suspension and control arms and bushings.
I'm kicking myself for not getting pictures of the removal, filling and re-installation because it was a little tricky. You have to unbolt and move over the whole fuse panel and remove the fuse panel mounting structure in order to even get to the 4th mount. Then you have to unbolt the front mount to drop the trans enough to pull the mount out (or at least put it back in after stiffening it up).
