strange boost issues

so tonight i'm playing around a little and notice that in second gear i am pulling around 14 psi which i guessed was because of the nice cold weather or whatever, but when i hit third gear and max it out, it only goes to 12-12.5 before you see the needle bouncing around from the bypass valve actually opening.

has anyone seen this issue before? it's like my system isn't limiting boost in second, but is in third. i'm not sure about the other gears cause i didn't want to be driving that fast tonight.

i'm not even sure what would cause this, unless it's just a fault in the pcm

****, I'm only getting 11 psi max outta my car. And you're complaining of "only" 12.5? LOL I could only dream of that.

if its bouncing around I would check your lines if I was you ... the first ss i test drove had a similar issue with the bouncing needle and it turned out to be a disconnected line

it's not bouncing much at all, you can see it twitching around the levels where the bypass should be kicking in and letting the boost out. maybe it's got something to do with the new exhaust i put on... but it shouldn't be doing it in only one gear though

Considering this is a digital gauge controlled by a PCM, you can't really trust it. If you were getting this on a mechanical that would be another thing...
