stripped pressure plate bolt. HELP

I dropped the transmission on my sons 05 ss s/c and then proceeded to remove the pressure plate and stripped on of the bolts. These bolts seemed to have been over torqued. I've tried a socket for stripped bolts and didnt work.

How big is the bolt that's left for material? If enough, you can tap and thread inside of the bolt, attach an anchor and remove it that way.

Weld a nut on it if you can, otherwise centerpunch it and drill it.

I'll give welding a nut on a try after work today.

What has been said above. There really isn't much else you can do. When I was restoring my 67 Camaro, I had to cut a lot of the body bolts with a sawzaw. Its a pain, but that's all you can do.

Vise-grips might work, too.

True, I have resorted to that a few times. I had a bunk bed bolt strip on me and I used it to get it out.

Used a cutting disc on a grinder and cut around the stripped bolt and then removed the pressure plate. Then welded a nut on it and it turned out good.
