hey guys i just put my s/c back on after painting it and i swapped to a 2.85 from a 2.9 and now im gettin a loud sucking noise when i give the throttle a quick punch from idle. it sounds cool but it didnt do this before with the 2.9 and i think its hard to belive that a 1/20 of an inch drop in pulley size would cause this... do any of you guys' cars runnin a 2.85 and below do this also?? im probably worryin about nothing but i just want to make sure...

 

Mine does that with my 2.9 and Injen intake. Its kinda cool!

i tihnk its normal, my friends gt500 makes the same noise, i think u hear it more as u add more power, i might be wrong but thats my 2 cents

 

Does it kinda sound like a soft humming, but whispery sound? If it is.... a week after i heard that noise my down pipe broke in half...

 

no im sure its the intake i put my head right down there near it and heard the suckin sound really clearly comin from there... its a whooshing of air sound im sure its just the smaller pulley suckin more air in quick... at least i hope

 

Then yes if your positive of where its coming from. That would be exactly what it is... my car does it as well and its bad ass... Haha...

 

this happens from my INTAKE. Its a cool sound. The only logical answer to this is that you just never noticed it before, because it has occurred ever since you put that AEM intake on.

 

you hope its not your plugs falling out of your supercharger.

 

did you remember to put the supercharger gasket back on both on the throttle body and manifold side?

 

If it's an air rushing from your intake it's probably been there all along.
I noticed my car doing this as soon as I put on my CAI, and I only have GSM2 pully on.

It only does it from idle RPM though. If the engine is spinning any more then idle it won't make the sound.

 

yea its one there good i am thinkin its just the s/c suckin in air faster now...
