supercharger pulleye removal

ok quick question my buddy says that for cobalt you need to remove the supercharger in order to remove the stage 2 pulley off the hub, but he says due to better clearence you can just take the pulley off on an ion without taking the charger off. But i took a look and there looks to be ample clearence to take the stage two pulley off my cobalt. What do you guys think?

If you are already staged...then yes I have witnessed/aided-in doing so without removing the pulley. I have the Ingalls ETD so I can just zip-tie my belt to the ETD once I take the slack out of it. Just remove the four bolts holding the ring in place and then remove...replace with new pulley ring. *But make sure that the new ring is designed to fit the stage 2 hub from GM* But don't get me wrong it's a hassle for sure. But we did the swap on the parking lot for our dyno So it doesn't take long at all.

It is seriously a PITA to take off the GM stage 2 pulley. You definitely need an impact. Taking off the S/C is not that hard and it makes it easier.
