Nah, the supercharger is belt-driven, so it won't ever need to "spool down" like a turbo. I'd be more careful about your clutch and axels.

uhhhhhh. how would you cool it off?

I understand your a noob. but this is just funny. The supercharger will cool off by itself once you turn the vechile off. Just like an engine will cool off when you turn it off.

Or......you can purchase a flux capacitor which is the best supercharger cool on the market. Definitly look into it.

Turbos have to be cooled before they are turned off, his question was fine. Although there is already a thread about this.

Definately not a dumb question. It shows you know somthing even by asking, there are many many people who have no idea that you would benefit by letting the turbo cool.

but in the end, you dont need to worry about a thing.. drive it like a naturally aspirated car.

Actually no I snatched the idea from one of my favorite movies. Maybe your fimilair with them. Back to the Future? Back to the Future 2 and 3. Great movies. You should check it out.

Oh and while your at it, grab a sense of humor.

And the "Douchebag of the Month" award goes to.......

But seriously, to the original poster. The blower will cool down by itself fine. The only thing temperature-wise you need to worry about is letting the coolant warm up before driving.

Its not so bad when your stock but when you get any type of stage kit put on, you need to let the coolant warm up to at least room temperature, otherwise the car will sputter terribly in second gear.

Eh... I've heard it's a good idea to just let it sit for like 30 seconds at idle before turning it off. You know, letting it get used to being at a vacuum instead of going from boost to off.

Just something I do everytime I park, it isn't a big deal, if it helps, cool. If it doesn't, so?

Well unless you were just reving the engine up really hard and making the boost needle jump, you should have already been at vacuum when you idled into the parking slot or driveway before shutting the car off. So no worries there.

When idling my guage shows Vacuum of -18 to -20. The gauge should not be jumping around when at idle, it should be pretty steady. If it IS jumping around you probably have a leak somewhere.

As for letting the SC cool off, not necessary under normal driving conditions. Only if I have been driving the car hard do I let it idle for 30 seconds or so before turning it off. After running hard letting the SC idle for 30 seconds or so allows the SC to cool to normal operating tempurature before turning it off. But this is only necessary when you just ran it hard right before turning it off. If you ran it hard then took it easy for a minute or two before turning it off you should be fine.
