ok i have an 05 cobalt ss/sc with a zzp 3inch down pipe a test pipe and from there back it goes into the 2.5 inch tsuno exhaust it has a 16inch resonator that came on the exhaust set up but i got the car about a month ago and its to raspy i was cleaning the tip and felt the inside of the muffler it feels like some kind of fish net im guessing thats what make the raspy sound? if i had a friend of mines whos a welder cut the muffler open and take that fish net **** out and then weld it back closed would it sound any better or is it even possible?

 

pulling that out will probably make it sound worse. these cars are know for being raspy, and loud.

to get rid of some rasp, put a Cat on it, get a bigger/longer resonator, bigger/longer muffler(not straight through)
