System Too Rich

Alright guys, I need your help. The car has been throwing this code for awhile. I can't get it to go away. If I delete it with a code scanner, I get maybe 5 miles. If I do an actual reset, maybe 60. Its driving me nuts. Its accompanied by a cat inefficency, which is to be expected. But its getting worse, its fried its 3rd o2 in the past 2 months. It causes it to throw alot of black smoke, it bucks and carrys on, hesitation, lack of power, basically extremely aggravating ****. Mods are as follows, I blame the intake, but I need someone who isnt so hateful towards this particular car to help me out. Everytime I get in this car, it has a new prob, or just something else to **** me off... anyways, here are the mods.


- Ingen Intake
- 3.0 ZZP Pulley
- 42# Injectors
- Pulsar Plat. Plugs
- Custom 3" Catless DP
- Untuned


When its right, it right. 254HP/229TQ kind of right. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm thinking the fact that ur untuned on 42#, smaller pulley and intake but I could b wrong I hope someone else chimes in for ya.

You need to be tuned for those mods you have.. Otherwise you're going to run into problems
Your injectors are pushing to much fuel to the engine and it's not using it all..
Which is why you're running so rich

get a freaking tune

The tune will compensate for the fuel and lack of a cat.

Get it done.

Omg who the ***** does these kinda mods and dont get tuned, did you even do any research about tuning ur car? You best get a tune asap before you tear something up

You cant run 42's without a tune, unless you're GMS2. AND those pulsar plugs have likely already killed your ignition setup so throw those in the woods right away and put in some NGK iridium.

You can't be doing mods such as injectors and pulley drops without tuning, you could do some real damage

Alright guys, we bought the car this way. I was told the car would compensate for the injectors. My bad, I believed it because of how damned advanced the computer system is in these cars. IVE NEVER heard of any other car rejecting a tune as these have.

And im kind of leary of irdium plugs because the last set I had broke a tip off within 1k miles. I had to tear the bitch down just to make sure it didn't tear anything up. And when you say killed my ignition system, are you meaning its fucked up the spark tables, or killed the coils?

If I were to go back to the stock injectors until I can scrape up the 300 bucks to have it tuned, will it be alright with the 3.0 pulley?

Yeah, we have supposedly one of the best GM tuners within driving distance that uses nothing but HPTunes, just haven't had the dough to get one. Car payments full coverage sucks ass!

U need new plugs when u get tuned, iv got similar mods as u and my tuner told me to run NGK - NGK Iridium IX Spark Plugs for LSJ # the 1 step colder range

I have the same problem when I put my ebay intake on. then I took it off and threw it in the garbage. the stock 1 back on and ordered the zz performance 3 inch cold air intake. It's been great since I've put it on..
