I told the dealership to check the timing chain tensioner since they're going to be under the hood and they said they couldn't do it because it's inside the engine and they're only working on the pulley.

That's what I told them. I'm like...you're already under the hood, just give it a look at. They said they would have to take the front of the engine off and they can't do that without knowing for sure something is wrong.

Well as an update...after a new supercharger was put in, the car still rattled so I took it back. They replaced the timing chain tensioner and another part that is directly across from the tensioner on the other side of the engine and guess what, it was still rattling!! They don't know what's going on and said that they will probably just replace the whole engine!!

I'm having this sound too. But only on cold start.

It's the timing chain tensioner . My 06 ss sc rattled like this too. I bought the part, brought in the thread, and practically made them install it. The sc won't rattle. It will make "whooshing" noises though. But atleast you got a new blower out of it!
