Throttle Lag Please Help!
Throttle Lag Please Help!
Alright for the last couple of days my car has had a throttle lag issue.
I step on the gas and it seems like it takes a few seconds before the car actually accelerates. The revs come up but slowly and there is a delay in the S/C kicking in which makes me think vacuum is dropping slowly.
I am not making any more boost so I would assume it's not a CAT issue.
The only other thing I can think of is issues with communication between pedal and the throttle body motor or a f'ed up throttle body motor. It seems to open quickly but maybe not 100%.
That or the cold weather stratagy for these cars is really, really terrible. It has the same issue cold or hot and when its 38 degrees or 60 degrees outside.
Any ideas would be helpful, since I don't want GM doing WOT tests in my car to duplicate the lag.
Thanks
Cody

Check the Cat, once it starts going you'll notice accelerating will bog, or worse like what mine did, is just allow almost no passage(I'm glad my exhaust gasket and not a headgasket or something) but I would say check it, before you do any more accelerating! A buddy of mine blew his engine cause the cat clogged like mine and when he started it up, caused a vacuum and sucked the cat internals right throught the exhaust ports and blew the engine. Cracked piston, broken valves, ring damage.... a great big mess.
