I dont know if there is a connection but i got my CEL to come on a couple days ago. I did a couple WOT runs and a/f looked good and still felt good. But after a one hour ride today i noticed my coolant temp would not go over 126 when it is usually around 180ish. It was 36 degrees out today fyi. But i dont remember from last year what my coolant temp was. Think there is a connection to my low coolant temp and cel

yes, your thermostat is stuck open. Buy a good one, not crappy one on a cardboard bubble pack at a dept. store.

Standard safety warning... Replace when coolant totally cool like after sitting overnight otherwise hot water all over you that will cause you do that Elaine dance, unsightly burn marks, warped parts etc etc..

And I bet you have a bad thermostat.
