ticking. rattling noise

ticking. rattling noise

one the left side of the motor.. im thinking its the timing chain but then again maybe something with my piston or rings. what yall think???

dealership said it was the supercharger for me but to me doesn't s ound like it

yeah i dont think so either. but m7y headgasket blew so could it be something with that?

only thing i can think of is injector ticking, but alot of GM's do that, your description sucks of your problem. try to narrow it down and then get back to us.

mine was ticking, took it to the dealership they told me it was normal injector ticking.

i have this problem now. i tore the valve cover off and im trying to find the problem now, the noise was horrible, i heard it over my exhaust

im telling you the muffler bearings are falling out. that noise was worse than nails on a chalkboard.

LOL, love it!!! Arent the muffler bearings located by the zit tube??

On a serious note... remove valve cover and check to see if the timing chain jumped. There should be NO slop on non tensioner side (closest to the radiator). Mine jumped and it sounded like the valves in my head were getting ready to jump out. All is well now.

Mine has a ticking noise when I'm driving and I let off the gas after acceleration. Is that what your talking about? And I also had some bad rattling noise from mine on the side opposite from the Cold air intake. Is that where yours is coming from?

If it appears just off idle up to about 1500 - 1800 rpm then goes away after that then it is the cam chain tensioner. Get that fixed ASAP!
