Timing Belt Tentioner
And no I've never timed an ecotec this is my first cobalt and I haven't messed around with it to much but from what I have heard and the sound my car is making its either the tentioner or an exhaust leak and I'm going to check both but I don't wanr to **** up my timing obviously I just want a good way to do it without ******* up my head
its just my opinion that it isent a good idea if the chain isent excessivaly worn you wont have a problem if the chain is excessivaly worn you can have a problem using zip ties to keep the slack out of the chain can hide a potential bigger problem if you want to zip tie it then do it if not dont
i just dont want to chance anything with just taking the tensioner out and putting then new one in cuz that can cause problems to i thought the zip tie would at least hold the tension it has even if it is worn it would be safer than just the plug and play way
Here is my how to with pictures taking off the valve cover and zip tying the chain in place
