Are you sure it's the timing chain? My supercharger is making a noise and it almost sounds like someone put marbles inside it. It's only at idle and if I hit the gas it goes away and it only does it randomly. here's a link to the thread I started about it...

Thought it might help you guys out...

By the way in my case if you stand near the headlight on the passenger side of the car the noise gets louder.

probably the tensioner like mine

still haven't ordered the part or replaced it...been too busy with work

I have a stage 1 unopened, solid transmission and motor mounts, stage 2 pulley system, and a midlength header + dp combo from zzp just chillin' with no time to install them. Hence the reason I sold my Cobra heat exchanger...NO TIME

They are telling me in the other thread that it's the coupler inside the supercharger that mates the snout to the blades inside the blower. Apparently they wear and rattle and cause it to be noisy...

Hmm... I would say the noise could be the timing chain tensioner, but it could be the coupler int he SC as well. The SC really starts to get noisy at idle the older it gets.

Yes, i have had this problem. My tensioner eventually collapsed and GM needed to replace the entire motor.

New motor for me!!

my tensioner, chain, and gears had to be replaced.... it sounded a lot like a diesel at idle.
