ok i know doing top speed runs is retarded but i just had to see if my car would do it so i went out last night and all i could hit was 140 wtf i could hit that before my stage 2 from ottp is it just a **** tune or what is the deal dont flame me for doing a top speed run i know its dumb but i never thought there was much of a difference after stage 2 and now i really dont i see stock cars hitting 155

 

Need a bigger hill maybe?

Mine will run 150+ mph pretty easily. I was dyno tuned with HP Tuners. Another guy got dynoed at the same place with the same tune you are using and only laid down 210 whp. We raced our cars to verify. Imo, you need to start with your tune.

 

quite possible that they didnt remove the speed limiter oronly up'd it to 140

i can hit more than 140 with my tune from zzp

 

I hit over 150 on the GM stage 2 tune. I doubt the tune he has now limits him to 140.

 

anything is possible. Everything is controlled by the computer so If he cant hit higher than 140 at WOT then theres an issue with the tune generally speaking.

that and that was with a gm stage 2 tune, ottp's tune is similar but they still control every change on that computer they may not have taken the speed limiter off.

Uhh is the stock limiter really to only 140? I had no idea we even had one. I've gotten 145 out of mine and its bone stock.

 

Could be a myriad of things limiting your top speed.
1. Canned tune could be way off.
2. Heat soak
3. Wind/drag coefficient
4. altitude / humidity

 

Mine only hits 140 as well. I'm pretty sure they have a limiter on them. Cuz it gets to 140 no prob. then just stops climbing.

Stock limiter has been covered many MANY times. 158 cut off. fuel back in at 155

 

My car just stops at 140 thats it. I'm not sure because when I bought it it was this way. I'm going turbo but not until i finish paying the car off but I'm getting a zzp stage 3 kit soon just to make it a little faster until i go turbo.

Yeah I want to know if it has to do with a tune? Cause I know stock cobalt ss hits 140. Could it be the rev limiter? Because mine stops on 5th gear.

yeah mine pulls through 4th then 5 has nothing i actually lose speed after i shift limiters are at 155 i thought i have MSR 045's i think they are and i have zeon zpt tires i think it has more to do with my tune tho and i dont know where to go around here to get it tuned i live in southern mn my rev limiter is set to 7 grand
