Torque Steer
Torque Steer
If I were to install a WEAPON*R Engine Damper would this help eliminate any torque steer ?
I've had my SS SC for 3 days now and although I have kept the rpm under 4500 I still notice great torque steer especially when turning under accceleration. It seems to pull hard into the turn.
I do have the LSD. This is my first front wheel drive car so maybe I'm just not used to it but I'm thinking when I do get the car broke in and get to hammer it the torque steer will be much worse (scary thought).
Also does anybody know where I could get the WEAPON*R Engine Damper for the best price ?
Peace

Torque steer is caused by one wheel getting more power or more direct power then the other. So if you have un-equal length CV axles the shorter one pulls/jerks harder. I would have thought the LSD would have greatly reduced the torque steer...i don't have an LSD and i have a bit of it too.
The dampener will help a bit, but it is designed to get power to the ground faster by minimizing engine movement...so it's not gunna do alot for the torque steer.

Hmm I was just doing some reading and I read that the LSD can actually make torque steer
worse.

actually they arent true equal length shafts , becuase the passenger side axle is still runs a extra shaft , with a extra bearing for support
it is a better system than with out the extra shaft and support , but still isnt true equal length
you also might want to watch your front tire wear , if the alignment is off a little it will amplify the TQ steer normal on front drives
the redline i drove with the lsd , when launched straight didnt tq steer , but if you hit the gas pedal at the wrong time , the tq steer would about rip the wheel outta your hand if your not watching in a corner
