Tranny Mount Questions
Tranny Mount Questions
I installed the ZZP tranny mount today. I already have the motor mount. It IS solid and causes a lot of vibrations but everyone says that a few miles and it will wear in. For those with the tranny mount, is this true?
My other, and bigger, concern and is the fit of the mount to the frame. It seems that the bolt that holds the mount to the unibody or frame, is way too small for the hole in the mount. I thought maybe I was missing a spacer but the bolt is loose in the stock mount as well. Is this what everyone else has experienced? I am thinking about making a soft rubber spacer to take up the slack.
Thanks
Pat

Give it a couple days, the vibrations will settle down a bit, but will never fully go away. You'll either have to get used to it, or pull your hair out from insanity. Personally I like the vibes though, it lets you know your mount is doing what it's made to do.
As far as mount to frame clearance goes, I'm not sure, but there are a few people on here that could tell you.
Jay, where are you?

how does it feel over stock anyways? (not vibration-wise)

Do you mean does it get rid of wheel hop? Oh yeah it is sweet. I did a 40 foot, wheelhop free burnout in the parking lot afterwards. Cabin noise is greatly increased though. I have a hard time hearing my intake now. I am going to buy some medium soft rubber stock to use as a bushing between the bolt and mount.
The mount for me is only really noticable in the low rpm (<2000). Above that the engine noise is louder than stock but i like it, lets me know the engine is actually doing something. My injen still screams much louder than the engine when really on it.
As for the loose bolt i never noticed....
