Tranny oil??

I getting ready to change my tranny oil. What type of gear oil should i use? Where are is the fill and drain plugs?

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. the f35 tranny thats in the cobalt ss/sc and ss/tc doesnt take atf like the f23 in the 2.2/2.4l. the cobalt ss/sc tranny uses a special gm fluid. other people have used royal purple with good results aswell.

Ok royal purple is what i should get huh? Cuz the gm fluid would just be like stock right? What about the drain plugs

drain plug is a bitch you may have a half inch between the drain plug and the frame of the car, Take the driver side tire off and you will see the fill plug and then look down by the frame rail and will see the drain, my suggestion is take the fill plug out and suck out the fluid you wont get it all but about 90% of it. just my .02

iight thats a bet thanks alot. Also what weight tranny oil shoud i be looking for?

stick with the oem stuff. Ive gone through a tranny thinking royal purple or mobil 1 or even redline would help.

Christ no. Royal Purple has a higher price, so people assume it's better. In reality, there is really no such thing as upgrading your fluids, so the GM stuff is what you should use.

iight and im assuming that i can that the fluid from dealer? Whats the part number, cuz some of them ppl who work there act like they dont know what the **** is what. I went there to get a oil filter and i told the guy i had a 07 chevy cobalt ss supercharged, this fool replies. Is that a 2 door or a 4 door??? wtf

almost everyone is recommending staying away from royal purple and such? i know you cant go wrong with stock, but are there adverse affects to running an aftermarket brand?
