when i go to start my car after its been sitting for more then 20-30 min, it will turn over the first time but not start, then it will start the second time i try...what could be the problem? its got new plugs, only mods are zzp intake and full exhaust.

Im having the same problem but everytime i gas up. I jus put in new Spark Plugs also, NGK 1 step colders Pre gapped at .33 from MPx. The car turns easy one push of the key in ignition but gets stuck starting up the 1st or 2nd try.

 

im thinking bad starter..anyone else have ideas?

 

Your problem starting is due to the purge selinoid valve ,located in the engine bay on the right side of the valve cover when looking at the engine.

 

Let the fuel pump prime before you start it. Might be getting weak. A fuel pressure test never hurts. Starter is fine if it cranks ok.

 

i tried what u said and the car started right up...i heard something squeak before i went to start it tho, sounded like it was coming from the rear of the car. you think i should replace the fuel pump?

 

You probably heard the pump prime. A fuel pressure test will determine if you need a pump.

 

Possibly the fuel lines are cracked coming out of the tank.

My car did the same thing. Crank hard if I try right away but start if I waited/tried again. Because after a while the fuel would come out of the lines.

It's a recall.
