i did a airbox mod in my car with the stage 2 setup that i got but really other than the nice sc sound that the car did i think in performance wise is not good and the way i can tell is very simple. as shifting gear i notice that 1 was max at 20 mph when in a regular stock it go all that way to 25 or 30 so if u shift that soon u will be going slower. 2 gear max was 40 mph when now i go to 60mph and get worse! this only my opinion i forget it abouth my spell please!!!!!!this for those guy who care abouth performance not sc sound!! so i gess the cheap way is not good i gess going to the cai and see.... thanks.....

 

u do kno that the max speed in each gear has to do with gear ratios and nothing to do with an air filter, right?!?

 

well i think the car run better with the stock setup really i thinking i need a catback before i get the cai.... what you guys think? if i got to shifth to 3 gear everytime i want to go to 60mph instead of 1gear to 2 gear!! i do better time !!!!!!

Definitely not trying to flame but I agree that theres no way a filter can alter your gearing. Maybe you just feel like it has changed because of the slightly quicker throttle response?

BTW I'm pretty sure english is not his native tongue guys.

 

If anything, the extra hp you gain from the "Air box mod" would help you pull threw each gear faster because you'd be going faster? I'm not sure I under stand your problem?

 

try the setup i see i speend 2 hour trying differents setup and that was my result... spell check where you guy see that option all i see is the faces and pic options?

no for real i can go far more in each gear with the stock setup give a try if you guyS got the airbox setup come back and let me know!!

Air box mod ftw! There is now way that doing this mod will make your car slower, unless u messed it up or used to much oil on your k+n filter causing maf contamination. Im not quite sure I understand your problem because its hard to understand your typing. sorry, not trying to make fun.

 

i have the airbox mod.. in all honesty i couldnt tell any difference from the butt dyno but it did sound better. one thing i do know is that it didnt hamper performance....

 

no way did the airbox mod make your gears smaller.

 

DUDE for real it think i make the car slower i wish somebody with do the same testing that i did yesterday or i think i going to take the car to the track!!

there has to be another issue that has messed the car up. i personally have done 2 members abm, and neither of them had a problem.

dont worry about aholes like that... anyway your car should be much quicker with the mod so im wondering is your filter all clogged up? did you clean it while doing the mod?

 

NOPE I GOT THE STOCK setup now with the stock filter and i disconect the battery ... as soon i took the road the car run much better and i can get more off each gear wich i like becuse for me is better to drive than waste time shifting too often!

 

did u change the filter? I changed mine to a K&N when doing it and theres a noticable difference

damn....if we use 2 air filters do we get a 6-speed??!!!!!

 

an AIRBOX modification will not DO ANYTHING TO YOUR GEARS! It has nothing to do with gears or how fast or slow you can go in a gear. YOur airbox mod didnt make your gears shorter or you run out of gears faster. Your just a dumb foriegner
