trying to go stage 2

Ok, so yesterday I made my first attempt to install my stage two kit, at first everything was going good until I got the supercharger off and tried to swap out the pulleys, I did not use the pulley puller that the venders on this site offer because I had one of those regular pulley pullers like in the pic, anyway after about an hour I got the stock pulley off using a heat gun. I know I'm not supposed to hammer the supercharger no matter what so I didn't, now my problem is getting the hub from zzp on to the supercharger shaft... does anyone know the size of the bolt that screws into the shaft? my plan was to get a bolt that fits and use some washers so every time I screw in the bolt it will automatically press on the hub. but so far I cannot find the correct bolt to fit in there, I was also thinking about putting the supercharger on a press and press on the hub but I was thinking it might be bad for the blower. does anyone have any other ideas?

bump, anyone? help? hehe

Press it on!!!

it only cost me 25 to do at a auto machine shop.

The screw idea is alright... but it will take ALOT of force to do that... but it would work.

i dont know the exact size of the bolt though, sorry.

you were really at risk damaging the supercharger shout using the heat gun to get the stock pulley off, but I'm glad it worked out for you in the end. Good luck to you and I hope you enjoy Stage 2

honestly, using that one. i bent my stock pulley to the point where it would just bend at the edges and the puller would come off...

iirc the snout uses an 8mmx1.25 bolt. what you do is get a long bolt, nut and washer. thread the nut on, then thread the bolt as far into the snout as you can. you then tighten the nut up to pull the pulley on. this is how power steering pullies are done and is an acceptable way. by threading the bolt in and tightening the nut it spreads the load over all the threads and you wont risk pulling them out.

so I got the bolt, and I got a thread tapper for that bolt as well since the pulley puller damaged the beginning [art of the thread, I tapped it over and the bolt is working great, just have to figure out how to stop the shaft from spinning as I turn the bolt with the hub.

I'm getting close to 18psi of boost now.
