Turbo???
Turbo???
im new to the SS supercharged, im looking to sell my 99 turbo Z and buy a SS S/C. heres what i want to know...has anyone thought about a turbo conversion. cuz what does the cobalt put for stock boost 10psi? im no where near sure but put a decent sized turbo at the same you will def make more power. and the computer is already designed for boost so its not a question of how hard would a tune be and what not..im just thinkin i want a lot of power....and im not knocking the intense package thats amazing but i came across a few posts that mentioned KNOCK...and the response was its fine its not a lot....KNOCK is no where near good my only thought would be maybe if you go with the REFLASH when the gm kits do come out it could upgrade it enough to lose the knock also running 93...i have to run 93 in my turbo cav cuz i get preignition like a mother with out it...87 my car "knocks" llike crazy...just wanted some info basically like i said im big on turbo's i do a lot of turbo set ups with friends cars, so this whole supercharger thing just crossed my mind. thanks

The set-up has been thought about with parts from the 2.0 turbo Saab's but no-one has tried it yet to my knowledge. I'm sure once tuning becomes possible more people will be willing to try it out. I think the 2.2 and 2.4 platforms would be better if you want to go turbo though personally. I would rather see a supercharger upgrade cause i love the always there power. This car was designed for corners more than a straightline so the turbo has its drawbacks there.

If they ever turbo the Cobalt, it would at least have to be a differen't turbo.
so i was reading a write up in hot rod magazine, december 05 issue (yea im alittle behind) its an SS S/C write up... they mentioned a $1,500 upgrade of Quife LSD and Recaro seats is that true??? also they had a part about how the STAGE II upgrade for it was impressive...so i bet everyone cannot wait...i can't either...

You can do what the Wbody has been doing. Unbolt the blower snout and remove the rotors. Place a cutoff plate where the snout used to be. You would now have an intake plenum (sc housing) which will allow you to use the stock intercooler and tb position.
I have the Intense kit and it is worth every penny... And if you have the settings correct with a safe a/f WOT then you should not have knock at all....I actually have not experience any knock at all. The most I have see was .3, but I was going uphill and I did not downshift...But thats with any car....
