I'd reccomend a new better H/E, and I'm pretty sure the 60s are a requirement.

Although I think...WSfrazier? or something like that, is running a tvs with no cooling mods and he's doing fine

He runs E85 that's why he gets away with the stock cooling....

OP, there is a thread floating around containing all the information you will ever need to know about the TVS & supporting mods.

You need injectors 60s or get 80's so you can go more power in the future. I would always do cooling mods. Why risk having high IATs and risking your motor when it is easily prevented by buying cooling mods.

On a 3" pulley, the car will probably feel slower than your M62.

From my experience, cooling mods didn't lower the IAT's at all, they just helped them recover faster after a pull. Peak temps were same before and after.

E85 is the only cooling mod I want and need.

This is very true....

I really only noticed quicker recovery along with cooler cruising temps with my cooling mods. My max temps after a *pull were always fairly close between stock cooling and modified cooling.

He's referring to heat soak. tvs comes with a 3.15" pulley

I run a tvs with no cooling mods. my iat's are lower than when I was on the stage 2 m62. After a 3rd gear pull my IAT2 tops out in the 120s. I have a zzp header, 3" dp, and 2.5" catback.

If you're going to have to buy injectors, why wouldn't you just get 80s. It's the same as an M62, once you get it and get used to it, you'll want more boost, and with more boost on a TVS you'll need 80s.

What supporting mods are needed to run a 2.9 pulley on a tvs? And what's need for 2.7 also?

I've read that page many times, but it doesn't tell what is needed to run each pulley. Such as built motor, or at what size you need to move to 80# injectors, etc. I wanna know how small of a pulley you can run without building the motor.

Not to thread jack, but this may help the op out as well. Staged, belvedere, root beer, and you other TVS guys I was hoping you could chime in on this one. Haha Staged I know you're not TVS but you have more knowledge than a freaking book so chime in! Anyways, yes I have read and re read all the TVS threads and I am wondering actually how critical engine and trans mounts are..... Is one more important than the other etc, and which ones/brands should I definitely be using with a TVS.

To run the TVS, you need tune, 60's preferably 80's (room to grow) and stage 2 belt for anything other than the 3.15" it comes with. All other mods: pistons, cooling, intake, exhaust, mounts, etc are all SUPPORTING. It's a matter of how you want to run the car.

And for the debate over "when do you need "x" mod?" Well, it again depends on the car and what the fueling/KR look like. If it's knocking, you need methanol or E85 or less timing/fuel tweaks. It's it's got high injector duty cycle, you need to step up fueling. It's all circumstantial
