After having LT1's, L98's, LS1's and even a SOHC 4.6 I wouldn't touch a UD pulley set with a ten foot pole. They are a waste of money and do more harm than good even on a N/A application. And yes on a application where a accessory like a S/C is being powered it will slow down also.

Another thing to think about is does the stock pulley have a dampner? If it does leave it alone.

Although I did under drive my water pump on my Mustang with good results.

No, I think I was misunderstood. I'm talking about an OVERDRIVE pulley. It's bigger and lighter than the factory crank pulley. This in turn OVERDRIVES the supercharger by whatever percentage bigger it is. Did you goto this link? http://www.altaminiperformance.com/p...ankpulley.html

There's a Red Line guy that's running a set of lighter pulleys for quite a while and likes em.

The fact is a underdrive pulley will be smaller than stock. When trying to increase boost you don't put a bigger pulley on your blower you put a smaller one on, so why would you think a smaller underdrive pulley would be the way to go. The HP's you gain from the pulley won't make up for the loss of boost. The over drive pulley would be fine if your staying with the stock supercharger pulley being that the overdrive pulley is larger and on a car with a 2.5 pulley your most likely going to burn up the blower or cause increased intake manifold temps, causing less hp's again. The best solution is a stock sized light weight aluminum pulley, to help take off some rotating weight, same as a aluminum flywheel would do, less rotating mass faster revs, more torque, little more hp's, safe for the motor, and blower. So a stock light weight pulley is the way to go.

Jim I'm needing a light weight crank pulley asap, because I'm currently building the bottom end of my motor, knife edging the crank and having my rotating assembly balance. I need it in order to get a perfect balance, so when I go with the neutral balance shafts there won't be as much more vibrations. Be more than willing to be a test subject, if you need a stock one to go off of I could let you borrow mine. PM me back asap.
