Upgraded H/E needed with H2O/Meth??
Upgraded H/E needed with H2O/Meth??
I have been hitting 155 IAT2 on a hard 3rd gear pull and need to cool things down a bit. I am going to get a injection set-up but I want to know if there would be a decent benefit from adding a bigger H/E? I really do not plan on going for a lot with this car, maybe a 2.8 and some 60's with HPtuners, thats it.
Should I spend some more dough on the H/E, dual pass etc. or will the H2O/Meth cool enough? I am a firm believer that if some is good, more is better but if I will only see an additional 5deg. reduction for hundreds of dollars I will pass.

One of the things that might be keeping your IATs up would be that restrictive exhaust. The GMPP is only 2.25 inch exhaust. You should be running at least 2.5 inch, if not the preferable 3" if you drop down to the 2.8
Thanks for the replies! I just got the exhaust earlier in the week so its going to stay. I have zero cooling mods and I know I need to go down that route. I told myself I was not going to screw with this car and here we are
Has anyone piggy-backed an additional cooler with the factory HE? The car is not here right now and I dont even know if there is enough space. Here is a cooler I picked up a while ago. http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...g/100_0573.jpg Do you guys think it would work? I dont want to hack up the car to make it work but if I can hide it somewhere and plumb it in, I may give it a shot.
Sorry if this seems silly, I am 100% diesel performance and spark plugs confuse me

As far as that other H/E you could just plumb it inline with the stock one. Take the line coming out of the stock outlet and just plumb it into the new ones inlet. Then, make sure you plumb that outlet on that back to the intake manifold. That wont be the hard part, making up brackets to hold it in place will be. Good luck with it. Try adding some water wetter to it also and dropping the coolant percentage. Run more along the lines of water/water wetter if temperatures allow you to do that.
