We are looking at this option as a way to get the car on road and then building the engine next year. We should know more in a few days.

We are not giving up. The donations over the past 2 days have been encouraging.

If this is what it takes. We have a line on a LS2 engine for a good price and we should know in a day or two if we get it.

It was nice meeting you too Tom. I am glad you made it home even if you did have a short 'delay' at the border.

As for my knowledge, wiat until you have a few engines blow up and see how much you have to learn quickly

And yes I will shamelessly plug my fund raiser, thank you .

well rod....i had 1200 kms on a gm crate motor, proper beak in, then on second pass, i popped hole 3 to zero comp. and hole 4 to 150 ,(hole 1 is 175, hole 2 is 190) . so id say 2 pistons down. i blew around the 1000 and on second run.....run 2 is one on left. see me pick up 5 mph by the eigth, and at 5800 rpm in third, pop. i let off gas and rolled across. AFR was 11.5-11.8 iat2 was 130. egt was high1300, 23.5 deg timing. VP103 UNLEADED., boost juice, and 50 wet. iridium 7.

That really doesn't seem like anything out of the ordinary.
I would really like to hear about what you find when you crack open the motor.
Is there any chance GM is going to warranty???

I hope they don't warranty...when modding and blowing your motor its your own damn fault...at the track and spraying and making GM pay for it...lame

if he was stock and at the track i could let it slide...but i hate people blaming GM for their own stupidity...

Dude, haven't you been watching the news. GM just closed 50% of the dealerships in Canada, and will have problems paying it's retired workers their pension. The workers have agreed to take a $20.00 per hour pay cut just so the company can be eligible for assistance from the government. They have killed Pontiac outright, SABB is GONE, GM Performance division has been prevented from making any new models.... Get it?

LOL warranty....

They do still have to hold up to their warranties...which the government has backed so its alright...but people taking advantage of the system pisses me off

My bad for missing the 50 shot so I agree no warranty claim.
Having said that, I am sure you will see Firestorm say he isn't trying to claim warranty and I base this on the times we have communicated via PM's.

LOL warranty....
As I mentioned, no warranty because of the 50 shot, not because GM isn't covering warranties.
As Tom said, GM still has to cover warranties because without out it, who would pony up for a new car???

people have been taking advantage of the system for years that's good for them don't be jealous. I think it's lame that GM doesn't have more factory support for aftermarket eco's that can maintain the warranty because everyone like subaru, mitsubishi, ford, honda, do I go on? all have an abundance of parts and don't say oh **** FU you modded your car. They just admit that they must have made a shitty design if it couldn't stand up to some modification.I blew up my head at 30K completely stock besides a GMPP catback! timing chain tensioner went out getting onto the freeway and then I bent some valves... GM didn't want to warranty it at first said it was my fault because of the exhaust. LOL don't go to Bret Chevrolet in Kent WA they are scammers!!

No I hear ya, that is 100% warranty and I support it...I hate when say people put on 60's/2.5 blow it up cuz they didn't get tuned, or had a horrible tuner then try to make GM pay for it same with nitrous...its stupid...if you are stock of with GM stages and it break hell yea go warranty that ****...

to clarify, i wont seek warranty, as i will just get myself another weak motor.
i was pushing it to what i thought was 95% of the motors limit for one day.
i was wrong, and i shall gladly pay. but until i do, ill ride my 203 hp ninja at the track and maybe nail some 9's tomorrow.
for the record, i still think the motor should handle the load i gave it. if anyone is willing to dispute what i did, let me know civilly, dont flame me. i also have exedy, axles, slicks, 2.8, 60's, snow perf.,dual pass "B", 3" intake, zzp mid legnth header and hi flo catted dp, corsa touring.and solid mounts.

So what are your plans as far as a rebuild goes?

All out built motor or just get your kicks on the bike?

If you decide to build the motor I have some nice internals for sale
