I just finished the install and ran distilled water, im using a 4gph nozzle with a boost activator for spray. I was chatting with another member on here and he said to be careful that i could lose power just running water or hurt my motor? Any truth to this what should i be looking for to make sure everything is ok. Btw after i used it a few pulls man that nozzle was chilly lol but my supercharger was alot cooler it seemed also.

 

Also my afr didn't change any at all on a few pulls they stayed pig rich as usual, but at one point I did seem to feel a loss in power somewhat when I went wot. Nothing big it still pulled but it just seemed to be holding back as if there was a small boost lek or something "could be my head playing tricks since I'm new to this setup" but my iat2 usually go straight up after I let off the throttle but now they stay low so that seems good, any cause for concerns from people who have experience with this?

 

Also how loud will the pump be so i can evee be aware if its staying on for whatever reason when its not supposed to?

 

Your loss of power you feel is because its to much fuel. Don't do what I first did and wing it lol. Make the mix right. Straight water will cool your intake charge way more then meth will but it can lean the car out like mine did with too much water. As for the pump wire an led into the hot for the pump you'll never hear it. The led will pop on when the pump turns on

 

The amount of water that you are spraying is insignificant and will have almost no noticeable difference in the AFR , you are spraying about 4ml yes 4 milliliters per second that pump is activated and that's atomized before it goes in lol, anyways you are good to spray distilled water and it wont hurt at all, once you get tuned your AFR wont be as rich anymore and your car will run smoother.

Also if you want to add an extra safety measure, wire a led light on the dashboard from the METH pump so that the bulb will light up as soon as the pump is getting power and working, then u'll be set

Water is not combustible, while it pulls heat from the surrounding metals very well. It does nothing for aiding in combustion, in fact it hurts it.

It's a give and take scenario with pure water injection or a 50/50 mixture of water an methanol.
Water acts like an infinite octane, slowing combustion, cooling IATs, cooling cylinders & egts.
In order to make use of it, you need to lean the tune and advance timing. Otherwise you will lose power, even though efficiency is picked up by lowering temperatures.

Focus more on how you could make more power with less work. Introducing a higher methanol concentration into your mixture will yield greater hp/trq results with a less aggressive tune.

 

So running pure water is lowering temps but making me run worse? Yea im on my way to work and it straight feels like its holding back with some sort boost leak is what it feels, I'm bout to unhook the line because this feels horrible

 

I was under the impression that pure water wouldn't make me run like this even without a tune only if i introduced meth without a tune?

Well bennyhhr is supposed to tune me but i haven't heard from him in over a month so im not sure what im supposed to do if he isn't getting with me, im kind of stuck in the middle

Leave the meth kit hooked up. Just don't spray until you get tuned.

It takes some time to get your car where you want it man. Don't rush it.

 

Well i unhooked the ground so that it wont spray, so basicallyy tune ia pig rich and the water is bogging the car down? Im confused on how the water bogs it down it seems like if its rich its gettin more than enough fuel it wouldnt bog and if water doesnt effecr afr it surprised me that can make the car bog down like that

Of course water will make the car feel slower

 

2.9 its a 4 ,got a 4 and 7 with the kit. Its just like a bogging feelin almost like its sputterin its weird

 

Yup... If you wanna run straight water, toss a 1-2gph

Otherwise leave it disconnected and get a tune for 50/50 or greater.

 

Whats the significance of running the 4 as opposed to 1-2 how does it effect it to make it bog like that? Just curious to the reasoning for the bogging, i read your previous post but was a little confused, i apologize new to meth.
