Weird Problem!!

Last night I started my car, let it idle for a minute, typed in an address to my gps and took off. It idled for maybe 2 minutes we will say. I got about 1/2 mile up the hill away from my house and the car started to surge and die. I tried giving it gas, but it didn't help and she died.

I started it back up, it jumps to like 1700 rpms and then drops down to around 950 *which is my idle* and once it got around idle it started surging like it didnt have enough gas and the rpms would drop.

TODAY I went out to start the car, she starts right up, but the boost gauge is around -17 psi instead of -20. If I rev the car up to 2-3k the boost gauge DROPS to around -20 or lower. If I rev quickly the boost gauge goes up.

I drove the car around for a short period of time and it acted completely normal. Minus the boost gauge being off at idle, I really have no clue.

Any ideas?

Cobalts are wierd. If you kill them and start them back up right away, sometimes it will idle like hell and won't have power at first. The only thing to do is unhook the battery for about 15 mins and try it again.

I have never had this issue since I have owned the car. After it died, Whenever I started it, it would not idle it would just slowly die. It tried to stay alive for as long as possible, but as the rpms got lower it would just finally give up and die.

I have no clue to why its running now today, but wouldn't yesterday.

And the boost gauge is reading -17psi instead of -20psi at idle, which leads me to believe there is a vacuum leak.

It's going back to the shop on friday, we will see what they have to say. They had it last for my nitrous install, maybe they did something. I am assuming they did something.

By the way, my interceptor isn't picking up any codes so that doesn't help.

I don't think the maf is the issue.

Well its going to go to the shop tomorrow to see whats up. I will update this thread then.
