Weird problem when starting car..

Okay, so, sometimes, the car will start as soon as you turn the key.. The normal 1-2 cranks, and it fires up like a champ.. Now, randomly, every 15 starts (or so), the car will crank 4 times before it starts. What would cause this inconsistency? It is completely noticeable, and horribly irritating.

Crank position sensor crapping out would be my guess, but it's just a guess.

A check list for you.

1.fuel in tank
2.battery terminal connections loose or corroded
3.worn, faulty or incorrectly spark plugs
4.broken, loose or disconnected wires at the ignition coil(s) or faulty coil(s)
5.fuel injector(s), fuel pump, fuel filter, pressure regulator

What do you mean by crank? You mean the number of times you have to turn the key to start it?
Or the number of times you hear the crankshaft rotate?

1. I have ran 93 since I got the car about 2 months ago. It is stock besides GMS2.
2. Will check tomorrow morning.
3. Brand new plugs, (And fuel filter), were installed by myself when I first noticed the problem. Didn't fix anything.
4. Will check tomorrow morning.
5. New fuel filter was installed like I said above.

Maybe that information well help narrow it.

Times you hear the crank rotate. I'll turn the key once, and sometimes it'll rotate 2 times, like it should.. And, other times, it will crank like 5 times.

Battery terminal connections are clean and secure. Wires to the coils are connected, not broken or loose.
