Hrm...well by now you've noticed me not being at the track. Been out most of the day. I'm hoping to make it back there maybe this coming Friday or next. Hopefully it'll cool down just a bit by then...

I heard they were on back order, is this true?
Your plan is the way most go with GMPP Stage 2, and it is also what I intend to do. Its tried and true, and has been getting pretty good results in my book. I also understand where your coming from wanting to retain your warranty. That is also one of my main deciding factors for purchasing the car.

As far as what pulley size to go with, I'd agree that a 2.8" is good for daily driving, or at least the smallest Id go with Stage II injectors. That, and the fact that a pulley produced for the GM hub is out there, makes the 2.8" or 2.79" out there is a good choice.

As far as a CAI, your going to get mixed opinions. A lot of people are going to say Injen, or AEM. A few will tell you to steer clear of K&N because they use an oiled filter that can clog the MAF. Others will say just to do an airbox mod since the factory design is already basically a CAI. I prefer the shiny tube, so Id go injen. This is something that pretty much depends on preference.

When you go with stage 2, consider going with one step colder plugs. They are not necessary, but will make the car run smoother. If you put the 2.8/2.79" on there immediately, then go with 2 step colder copper plugs. (I believe thats right, check other posts though)

Lastly, invest in traction modifications. The Ingalls torque damper was my first purchase. You may want to look into purchase of it, or control arm bushings, poly mounts, or some of the other options out there. Also, at some point you may want to get a spare set of 16" wheels for the front, and run drag radials on them. These can be retained, and swapped out for track days.

Also, I pull just about 18-20Hg of vaccum at idle. (My car has 3560 miles on it.)

I think that about covers it. Im sure someone will correct me if I mis-informed, or left anything out.

Take it easy,
Chris~

I put the stage 2 kit on from GM after only 470 miles. My dealer had it in stock, they allowed me to do the work and they re-flashed the computer for me. My family owns a reputiable service station in the area and we do alot of work with them. Next I did the CAI and then the exhaust. I am about to break 1200 miles and average about 22mpg. I am going to try and go with a 2.6 pulley, I just have to find one to fit the GM hub. Just have fun with it, thats why you bought it!!!
