what are the odds of blowing the LSJ?

hey guys
I dont think a thread like this has been made for the LSJ community.
out of curiousity, i was wondering how many people on here have blown a motor, or had any other VERY serious problems while modding.
Im looking on going 60s and a 2.8 from OTT but i keep going back in forth because im worried that with the extra power and aftermarket tune I may run into problems like clutch death, motor problems, tranny problem etc. and since i drive my car over 300 miles per week, i dont know if its worth it, although i wuv speed

i love these cars, but when it comes to serious modding i feel a bit uneasy
thanks guys

lol please dont post if your stock, upgraded injectors and pulley or more please

Twice. One popped piston on stage 2 tune w/2.8" and about a 65-70 shot of nitrous. I knew there was too much timing in the car, I didn't have access to my laptop and HPT for a couple months, but I ran it anyway. Cost me a piston

Second time, after putting the motor together, I split a sleeve. Not really making any more power, but the car started to sound funny again during break-in, so I beat it until it broke. Took out the front side of #1 sleeve. Got rid of the car after that.

first the cat went after only 9k miles ended up boosting 19PSI before trade in,
spent A WHOLE MONTH in the dealer who flew out an engineer and he said NOTHING was wrong, well a month after trade in i get a call from carmax... melted CAT blown ring's in #4 they put in a whole new motor.. and for got about the stage 2 flash on the PCM which caused TROUBLE for the second owner..

My motor held strong. I put it threw hell and it never skipped a beat. The undoing of my car was a defective pair of stage 2 axles leaking cv grease into my trans and after that the trans decided it was time to go.

Car was tuned the same day it was bought and 2.5" pullied 6 days later. I ran that setup for close to 2 years then went tvs and ran 25 psi on stock motor and got bored so i ran 28 for the hell of it. Compression test were always good.

The tune and driver and supporting mods all play a very large part. If one is bad your done.

I have 57000 miles and a majority of them with full race gm stage 3 and octane mode racing around most or the summer. The only problem I've had is a spark plug shooting out of my cylinder head. OOOOo and now it builds about a half inch of oil over the spark plug. No blown motor

The oil is a valve cover gasket issue. Mine did that, I removed the cover, cleaned and reseated the gasket, no more oil on the plug
