That was my problem in both cases. To much heat! I have a meth kit but before I had a chance to use it productively I broke one of the adjustment knobs

Joe i've noticed too. It wasn't until about 500 miles on new piston that I started having more problems. Had all oval'd out sleeves.

Second time, after putting the motor together, I split a sleeve. Not really making any more power, but the car started to sound funny again during break-in, so I beat it until it broke. Took out the front side of #1 sleeve. Got rid of the car after that.

i've blown 2, once was to much timing and to high egt's. second one the crank pulley spun on the crankshaft taking a chunk out of the crank shaft, lost oil and coolant pressure.

i had a 2.8 pulley with stock injectors in my car when i first bought it (didnt know) and droveit for about 6,000 miles, did alot oh highway pulls, installed 60s, then went to a 2.7 pulley with meth, and i took it to the track often and Plenty of highway pulls and my car still runs great no problems, and now im in the process of turboing her

i have 36,000 miles on my car and no issues with anything whatsoever. if you do it right, meaning not just throwing 2.8 and 60s..u get a reallly good tuner to custom tune you, must have cooling mods. my clutch is 100percent also

made 296whp 274wtq 2.55 pulley, meth, 3" exhaust, no car, C/A header, air box mod, and C/A front mount he. Car was kinda fun back then lol. But god I hated the heatsoaking bastard of a s/c it had lol.

been making over 400whp for almost a year now and over 350 for 1.5 yrs. Car's never skipped a beat.

Your odds of blowing the LSJ are high. I know more blown LSJ's personally than I do running ones. Of course all the guys who have not blown their motor either went turbo or trap under 105. The LSJ is UN ******* RELIABLE WHEN HIGHLY MODDED, Especially with the HeatonM62. Sure a 2.8 2.9 Setup will be reliable but If you like being able to Contend with the real power out there a 2.9, 2.8 **** even a 2.5 with meth making 300whp wont do it.

You would be best off swapping to a turbo that will be more reliable than any Heaton or TVS on your car, Unless of course you like running mid 13's then you might as well just put 60LBers 2.8 full exhaust, HE dynotune Dot compounds and call it a day.

completely untrue, its the shitty tunes and the back to back beatings that do it in. I've abused the **** out of my car, was trapping in the 110mph range s/c and 118+ turbo'd still on the bone stock original motor with almost 44k miles on it.
