I thought he bought it from a Dealer knowing it was Witt's car. lol

Teh Jake is teh wise. I understand the desire to know what was on the car before, but Al didn't sell his car, he traded it in. And a dealer sold it. Generally when you trade a car in, it's because you want to be free of the car completely and not get hunted down for information or troubleshooting help.

I'm sure that was a mitigating factor, but definitely not the entire reason.

^^ Okay, so lets say you are in his shoes. You want to build up the engine, go get some cams, pistons, valve springs...

You pull it all apart to realize this was all done already.... Now nothing is returnable.

That doesn't matter. He bought it from a dealer, if he has questions then the dealer needs to answer them. I don't go running to the person I bought my house from when there's a problem with it. Even if he knew whose car it was, you could just search the forum and find out.

Sounds like something that is not Witt's responsibility? Call the dealer. He gave a parts list.

Those are not shoes I would ever be in. For two reasons:

a) If I buy something, I am going to know to the absolute very best of my knowledge what's done to it and what's wrong with it before I sign on the dotted line.

b) That is the chance you take when you buy a used car knowing it's been modded by a previous owner, which is why I would NEVER consider buying a used tuner car, especially one that I blatently knew had mods done to it.

It's not Witt's problem. Witt has NO responsibility WHAT SO EVER to offer any information to anyone. He took it to the dealer, he handed them a parts list, and washed his hands of the car. He doesn't have any obligation to the car for any reason at all.

Okay.. so.. dealer doesnt have the information he needs...

So he is just gonna have to guess and run with it?

Obviously Witt didnt mind.. he didnt have to reply in this thread.

Witts responsibility.. no ... But does it bother you that much someone might actually be nice and help the dude out?

It wouldn't matter either way. The dealer bought the car as-is. Even further, Witt has no way of knowing if what the car had on it is still on the car or not. Most of the time, parts come off, techs swap out parts for their personal vehicle, etc. He doesn't know if what he gave the dealer is still there, it's the dealer's problem, not his.

As evidenced by the above post, it just happens he has a sense of humor. I'd be royally ticked if I started getting calls from someone who bought a car I traded in asking me what was on it and why it wasn't doing what I thought it should be doing.

And he gave a parts list to Dead Zen to relay, and has been answering questions about what is in the car... all far beyond what he HAS to do, which is zip.

Oh and I farted in the back seat.... twice on the way to summit before.....

Knowing its highly modified before he buys it doesnt mean he has an exact parts list.

This dude was just asking what was done to the car... Obviously "Highly modfied" just wasnt cutting it.

What BOTHERS me is that Witt is a good friend of mine and that this is EXACTLY what he was afraid would happen.

If he wanted to be bothered with questions about it, he would have replied sooner. My guess would be he replied because he got sick of hearing "Hey some dude bought your car and he wants to know...."

The dealer had a good idea of what was on it. That should have been enough. Dead Zen bumped into the guy who bought the car, Witt sent a parts list on to relay. That wasn't good enough.

Obviously a parts list wasn't all he wanted or he wouldn't have brought up anything about track times or anything else. He had the parts list before this thread was made. He just wanted to know why his track times sucked on someone else's setup.

I'm reminded of the saying. One good deed never goes unpunished.

Because this is what's wrong with this site. Someone is nice so they get taken advantage of. First of all the thread never should have made it past a few posts because threads of this nature are against the rules. Second of all HE GOT RID OF IT TO BE DONE WITH IT this is EXACTLY what he DID NOT want to happen.

THEN YOU DON'T BUY THE CAR it is REALLY that simple boys and girls.

That to me just didnt seem like too much questioning.

He posted the track times, and it wasnt till someone said "you have all that and your posting that high of an et?" till the guy started questioning..

If the parts list was relayed, why would he be asking again?

He also, didnt directly ask witt.... He asks if anyone who knew him would give him any info... he even acknowledges that he knows about some stuff, he asks if theres anything more anyone else might know...

I dont think he cares if its highly modified or not, he just wanted to know what was in it.

Some people may not be on the same level as you, and cant pull a car completely apart to figure out whats inside, when there is a forum with people who obviously know him, and might know whats inside.
