Oh, and ALOT has to do with the driver, not just who has the "Faster" Car
I beg to differ on this one as my axle broke when all I had was an intake. My Stage 2 got denied warranty coverage due to having installed a better clutch. So the Stage 2 warranty goes out the window too. GM built these cars, but definately does not back them whether you buy their damn kits or not. Thus, I'm done with GM fixing my car. I do all my own work now, and the car runs tenfold better because of it!

Oh and this **** about an SRT-4 railing the hell out of an SS/SC is bullshit. Stock for stock with my buddies 05 srt-4 we were dead even. I put on Stage2 and an exhaust, and there wasn't even a competition. This was proved on even lightly modded SRT-4s as I have three buddies that own them. Each one received an A$$ whooping that night except for the one that was pushing some hefty mods. One buddy put on the Mopar Stage 1, TBE, and an AGP wastegate making the car a stage 2 and now whoops my ass by a few car lengths. His 20psi to redline vs. my 16.5-17psi at redline now only makes 3 lengths which isn't bad considering he has a lot more power than I do. Some people on here seriously need to learn how to drive their cars better, keep them in their very picky powerband, and stop hating on their own rides.

Yes, yes they can buy a boost controller. A manual under hoo dunit is under $100. He probably cranked it all the way up without a tune or injectors. So he went dead lean during WOT and... well his pistons most likely fuzed to the block.

A boost controller on an SRT-4 will allow you to up the boost. However, the stock wastegate will bleed it off, since it isn't strong enough to hold the extra boost. That is why they do the "spring mod" or buy a better wastegate like the AGP one.

Well, I know what I've witnessed and thats all what matters, I didn't come here to flame cobalt owners, cause I was/am thinking of getting one, but when I see such blatent stupidness its hard to resist. Something none of you can argue about, at least the neon doesn't fall apart after 6 months of driving. I've never seen a car forum where so many owners just want to rid themselves of the rides they're there to talk about.
Just be happy that for some reason I can't even begin to explain, the cobalt rapes the neon(hell, even my SXT neon) in insurance rates.

Also might be worth note, theres alot of srt-4 owners that do mods that just hinder their cars. Srts were actually built pretty good straight from the shop- so things like exhausts, BOVs.. piddly **** like that just isn't neccessary. CAI about the best basic thing to do to em.

Now, yall wanna shut up for good? Go put 3 grand into an srt-4 for a stage 3. Then dump 3 grand into your cobalt and go race.. then cry when the neon is waiting for you at the end of the track.

disclaimer: being a neon owner doesn't make this post any less true, actually I hate my neon. Inside is nice, and it doesn't look bad, but my stock is too slow and its an automatic too. Don't think I'm hating on the cobalt just cause I like srt-4s. i hate on the srt-4 guys too sometimes.

we are actually putting in less than 3 grand on my partners car, Ljavy. We are going full turbo on his balt. Bring the stage 3 srt4. Ill be nice and give him some toulene and 105 octane so he can HOM. Ljavy will be in the 400's! I had a stage 3 srt4 myself BTW. 3 grand in a balt goes far homey.

Someone give me three grand and I'll do it. This sounds like a challenge. I'll even use the stock pistons to try it too, just for pucker factor!
Turbo I want: $1000
HPTuners: $500
Turbo Manifold: $150-$500 depends on log or tubular
BOV: $100
Custom Fab TB adaptor: $30 for materials, freebee made by me
Pipes and lines: $100
Injectors: $200
Pro-Tune: $500
Water/meth injection kit: $300
$2780-$3130 total, and I guarantee the would at least keep up with the Stage 3 SRT-4!

I'm sitting at $3570 with my mods. I did have to pay for some lift time and help from my buddies too, but that's not inluded with that total. Thank god for me doing all my own work with some assistance every now and then! I.E. it's hard to lift a tranny by yourself, and setting the timing too.
